When turning motor over, it sounds different , is that normal for flooding?

Sounds like it is flooded
you need to hold gas pedal down while cranking untill it starts
Once it starts let it run for awhile

Wont start

There is no sound to flooding &
there is no vapor lock in over 30
years, since all vehicles are fuel
injected & the fuel either continually
flows back to the tank or deadheads
to fuel rail & is used

You either have fuel pressure or
it is too low or not there or pump
drains down when turned off

You obviously need a good battery, spark
plugs & functioning ignition system (spark)

Will have to be tested to see what your missing

Could be you have a stored code if the electronics
are checked first.

You need to provide a vehicle, year, make, engine, etc
& some detail of any problems, plus any testing done

Won't Start --- won't get you an answer or a quess

I have 85 rx7 12a engine carb getting spark and fuel,it will turn but it won't start what could it be.

It takes 3 things for a car to run... spark, fuel, and air. Sounds like you should be looking for a problem with the air, IF it is getting spark and fuel. Food for thought.

2000 nissan maxima won't fire when trying to start. it turns over but won't fire. it started once and ran but won't start again

sounds like it might be flooded. Try and remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse block that is just in front of your left knee. While it is out crank the car and see if it wants to start and hold down the gas pedal all the way and then relase it and back and forth and once you get it to run have the fuse ready in your hand and in front of the spot to install it. and then keep the rpm's up with the gas pedal until the smoke clears out behind the car.

It sounds like what you fried is the diodes on the alternator. You are probably due for a new alternator. On the bright side, it's much cheaper than the computer.

Electricity not getting to starter. Using a screwdriver to start it. Now it sounds flooded, won't turn over

Sounds like a faulty starter solenoid. Some of these solenoids supply ignition power during start up. If you're bypassing it, you wont be getting any spark and therefore flooding the engine. Replace the solenoid.
