Hi i am wondering if i hav a block heater in my 1998 vw jetta tdi

You need to have someone with VW smarts poke around for one. There are three different styles, each mounted in a different location. Backside of the engine, or glued to the oilpan, or in a coolant line.

1998 Volkswagon jetta GL OBDII code P0117 (engine coolant temp LOW IMPUT) What is the fix? Installed new thermastate, Rad&engine flush, Replaced water pump about a year ago.

Comment from the FixYa Moderator Staff:

Regarding your PO0117 code, I would suggest to you to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor. This is a rather common isue, either the sensor is bad, the wiring connection is compromised, or the coolant level is low. I woul dthink that the senor is the issue, however.

Thnaks or coming to FixYa for advice with your VW.

It could just be out of adjustment. I recommend going to a dealership for the part. The VIN number should identify your car specs exactly to avoid getting the wrong part
