If you take the car to a bmw dealer he will ask you to sign a disclaimer so he can disconnect the airbag for you.once done you will NOT have an airbag, so anybody, that gets hurt in a crash, will sue your ***.(even if you tell them.....)the SAFEST place for any little person is IN THE BACK,KERBSIDE.wearing a FULL harness.
(even my dog wears a belt in the car,on the backseat of course.)
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE AIRBAG YOURSELF,ITS EXPLOSIVE...

I have all the functions of the a/c and the associated operations of the dashboard doors when selected, except. no heat whatsoever when selected. The heater core is hot when the engine is @ normal temp....

Hi, this problem is caused by failure of the blend door actuator or structural failure of the door itself. First, access the actuator as instructed below. Have someone turn the key on and change the temperature setting while you watch the actuator. If the actuator turns, odds are the door hinge has failed. In this case, the heater box must be removed from the truck and split open to repair the door.
If the actuator does not move, it may have failed. Remove the actuator and check it for stripped gears or plug it back in and see if it will turn at all when the temperature control is changed. You might also want to check for voltage at the connector before buying a new actuator. A new actuator is about $40.

  1. Disarm the air bag system as explained below.
  2. Open the glove compartment to access the passenger air bag module bolts.

  3. Disconnect the passenger air bag module electrical connector
  4. Remove the two passenger air bag retaining bolts.
  5. Disconnect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
  6. Placing one hand in the glove compartment, push the passenger air bag module out and remove it.
WARNING Do not handle the passenger air bag module by grabbing the edges of the deployment doors.
  7. Remove the defroster opening grill.

  2. Detach and position the RH demister hose aside.
  3. On vehicles with anti-theft/keyless entry, remove the screws and position the anti-theft/keyless entry module aside.
  4. Working through the opening near the RH defroster nozzle, remove the screw.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. Remove the screws and the temperature blend door actuator.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the air bag module bolts to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm).

Disarming the Airbag System

  1. Turn all vehicle accessories OFF.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  3. At the smart junction box (SJB), located below the RH side of the instrument panel, remove the RH lower cowl trim panel and remove the restraints control module (RCM) fuse from the SJB. For additional information, refer to the Owner-s Manual.
  4. Turn the ignition ON and visually monitor the air bag indicator for at least 30 seconds. The air bag indicator will remain lit continuously (no flashing) if the correct RCM fuse has been removed. If the air bag indicator does not remain lit continuously, remove the correct RCM fuse before proceeding.
  5. Turn the ignition OFF.
CAUTION To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the backup power supply must be depleted before repairing or replacing any front or side air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) components and before servicing, replacing, adjusting or striking components near the front or side air bag sensors or RCM, such as doors, instrument panel, console, door latches, strikers, seats and hood latches.
  6. To deplete the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute. Be sure to disconnect auxiliary batteries and power supplies (if equipped).
  7. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) and wait at least one minute.

Passenger side seat belt won't pull out

It could have twisted on recoil and is now stuck. You'd have to remove the interior panel to view that.

On the really bad side, the seat belt pretensioner could have failed or fired and locked the belt in place. If that's the case, I'd have a mechanic replace it since you can trigger an air bag deployment replacing it yourself.

1999 f150 airbag light stays on after blinking upon start up!

Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Switch
The passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch:
  • is located on the instrument panel to the right of the climate controls.
  • contains a light emitting diode (LED) that indicates when the PAD switch is activated (passenger air bag disabled).
  • allows the passenger air bag deployment circuit to be disabled using the ignition key.
  • should be used whenever a child safety seat is being used in the front passenger seating position.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prove Out the System
Prove out the system means to turn the ignition switch from the OFF to the RUN position and visually monitor the air bag indicator with the air bag modules installed. The air bag indicator will light continuously for approximately six seconds and then turn off. If an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault is present, the air bag indicator will either:
  • fail to light.
  • remain lit continuously.
  • flash.
The flashing might not occur until approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch has been turned from the OFF to the RUN position. This is the time required for the restraints control module (RCM) to complete the testing of the SRS. If the air bag indicator is inoperative and an SRS fault exists, a chime will sound in a pattern of five sets of five tone bursts. If this occurs, the air bag indicator will need to be repaired before diagnosis can continue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Active Commands
This command allows the technician to verify operation of the air bag indicator, passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) lamp and chime. When the air bag output command is executed, the indicator, the PAD lamp, chime and the chime are activated simultaneously for approximately four seconds. All devices are deactivated automatically.

2006 reo passenger air bag light says its off. how do i turn it on?

The passenger air bag will only come on if there is weight in the seat. The manual says 40 lbs, but it is more than that. When my 60 son sits in the front, the air bag stays off. This is a safety mechanism. An air bag can kill a small child, so it automatically turns itself off if there is little or no weight in the seat. Also saves having to have the air bag repacked if you have a wreck with no one in the front passenger seat--a costly repair.
