Question about Eagle Talon

1995 EAGLE TALON ESI 2.L NON TURBO This is related to my last post, I am having some idleing issues. the car doesnt stay at its respected idle speed either in nutral or in park or in gear at a stop or red light , the car just wants to stall. now ive switched out the IAC , EGR valve. still same issue. I have just noticed something NEW, in park or in neutral , if I floor the gas pedal all the way , the car will rev up to about 3.5rpm and STAY there and kinda boble. what could possibly be goin on here.... could it be the fuel filter , or a fuel line , because on the AIR aspect of things , eveything seems fine, so im starting to think it might be a fuel issue spark plugs are all good and firing up respectively. air filter is nice and clean. cleaned out the whole air intake , doesnt seem to have any vacuum leak anywhere. please help. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks !!

If there is no vacuum leak, the IAC and the EGr both switched out and spark plugs working.,then it indicates towards fuel problem, but still get the fuel pressure checked. If the fuel pressure is low then yes it can be fuel related problem. The fuel pump and fuel filter has to be replaced. But if the fuel pressure is checked ok then its not fuel pump or fuel filter problem. Then the cars computer needs to be scanned at car diagnosis center and faulty error codes has to be confirmed as per the error code.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Hi. Were you able to get an error code for this issue. I suggest to have the car scanned first for error codes so that we can provide you better solution. Problem might be coming from somewhere.

Hi! Looks like you have a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor. THe MAF has big contribution on engine performance specially on the idling and vacuum supply. If the MAF is fautly the rpm is unstable and sometimes it feels locking up. YOu will need to have it replaced to resolve this. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Having a problem with my 1994 eagle talon. no

shake at idle means u have a cylinder misfire or low commpression, here are causes of misfires most commonly seen.

The most common misfire causes on the cars I've worked on have been:
  1. Spark plugs
  2. Spark plug wires
  3. Ignition coil
  4. Fuel injector
  5. Wiring to fuel injector
  6. Timing Belt
  7. Vacuum leak or stuck open EGR
  8. Contaminated fuel or bad fuel pump
  9. Weak compression
  10. Blown head gasket

Well, if the link is burning, something major is wrong, replace the link alone and it would certainly fail again. I suggest that you pull the alternator and get it bench tested. I suspect diode problems...

I just changed a Timing Belt on my 95 Eagle Talon Esi 2.0 DOHC Non-Turbo, I know the timing is correct, as I started the engine before i put everything else back together. Since I got everything put back...

Sounds like your Hydraulic Timing Belt Tensioner, or could be the Idle Pullys. There's a kit available that includes all needed parts for around $150.00 depending on your location.

did you get the codes by doing the "key dance"(on,off,on,off,on) ?

if so, it almost always flashes a 12 and 55. here is what they mean.

12 - direct power input to the PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles

55 - End of error messages

check the mass air flow sensor, if this is bad then the ecu wont get a signal and it wont send the right amount of fuel to the cylinders causing a no start condition

1995 eagle talon esi none turbo

sounds like you may have an injector seal leak or an air leak at the filter check all fittings the rough idle is not abnormal with the air but a tune up will help also there is an air control solenoid if you left it unhooked broke a wire to it it will not start with the pedal being pushed and will idle lower than normal and very rough when air is on that is what i would at first..
