Don't know year make model but if you can smell gas and you see wetness underneath you should have it checked out. a small leak even though your not loosing much gas can be deadly especially if vehicle is in a garage or closed area cause the gas vapor is more of a problem than raw gas. there are lots of places that the leak could be coming from tank, lines, filter, evap system or the charcoal canister. much better to be safe than sorry, no need to have a major problem (possibly life threatening) develop over something that may be able to be fixed before hand.

Smell gas inside

On my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica I noticed a gas smell inside the cabin. I could also smell the gas very strong inside the engine bay when the car was running. It turned out to be a plastic line that connects between the fuel line from the tank, and the fuel rail which was leaking fuel. This line was located on the right side of the engine bay under the air cleaner. This was right next to the HVAC system, which was why I was smelling it in the cab of the car so much.

Gas smell inside outside the car. poor gas mileage

Check the fuel hose and clamps from the filler to the tank .check hose for cracks . The smell will probably be strongest in the boot.

2009 MALIBU smell gas from underneath the car?

is your purge canister working correctly or does it cause the fumes to stay in fuel tank and smell from the tank cap. Check when the car is off by removing the filler cap whether you have a pressure in tank. this might cause the smell, unless there is a small leak not noticeable somewhere.

There is an odor of gas coming from underneath right passenger door

The fuel filter is located there and it could be leaking and the exhaust can leak and it'll smell like fuel. theirs also vent lines for the tank ( plastic) that go from the tank to the canister ( evaprotive emissions ) If someone jacking up the car could damage them to and they will smell alot bur not leak wet gas. Inspect the car or have it inspected by someone who can get under the car( or raise it up) and check everything that can leak as a fuel leak can cause a very bad problem to happen.

My 2000 chrysler 300m smeells of gas all the time but runs great when i checked under the hood no visual leaks but can smell it realy strong on the passenger side of rear of motor

Have the purge system tested, and the regulator diaphragm looked at. also the lines, especially the quick disconnect lines up near the engine. You smell gas, but as the engine heats up, the gasoline evaporates and you don't see where it is coming from. This is dangerous in any case, not to mention smelly. The regulator is located in back of the engine (on top) near the throttle body. (just underneath it).
Start the car and let it run for a couple of minutes. Stop the car, and using a flashlight and a good retractable mechanic's mirror, take a look for wetness.
if the regulator (a small, flat inch and a half disk attached to the fuel line) is wet. have it replaced right away. The purge system canister can usually be tested by a good mechanic with the right equipment. You and I usually cannot do this ourselves.

I have a gas smell that seems to be coming from engine compartmen

you HAVE a gas leak, the best way for this problem is to use your senses of smell and sight.
Look for gas leaking at the same time smell for the strong smell of gas and locate the area.

2005 Chevy Impala exhaust smell

neither one of these would cause gas to leak. sure it is not coolant ? if you think it is gas it is not safe to drive car as it could catch on fire. possible cause would be a leaking injector.
