I have a 2007 mustang gt convertible cs. My wife had the car parked in the parking lot at work. She can see the car from her desk. On several occassions she noticed the headlights come on for about 20 to 30 seconds several times per day. not touching the remote ,no one touching the car. Last week the car was in the garage and I noticed the lights come on 4 times in 3 hours for about 20 to 30 seconds. not touching the remote or garage door opener,no keys in the ignition. Last month I took the car to the dealer and they could not find a solution.

HI! Can only mean one thing... The headlight relay must be wet or something or may gone bad. But everytime that the car is in the dealership they cant find the fault for its intermitent.

If I were to ask, The PCM is surely faulty. The PCM (powertrain control module) has connectivity on all electrical current that runs inside the car including the engine, transmission, accessories, etc. If the PCM is faulty the car fails.

Garvin, It seems that the headlight wire is shorting intermittently with the power wire of the car. That is why when the ignition is on the wires short due to some bump or something. It does not have to be far off. Just close to the ignition switch. If you can locate it then wrap a tape around it and drive happily thereafter. Happy motoring.

OK. Do you have to have the ignition switch on (engine not running) to put the light on? Can the light be switched on without the key in the ignition switch?

In that case the positive of the headlight is shorting somewhere. Can you trace the wire from the light switch on the steering downwards. It has to be shorting somewhere. Or the light switch is bad. It keeps shorting without being switched on. When the wire gets hot they separate and then join again after cooling.

Hi! i started my mustang 2010 with the sheaker 500....but nothing with it,only Mustang GT in the screen but no sound and i cant eject cd in... :S

I would imagine it is still under warrenty, I would take it to the dealer and let them fix it before messing with it myself. If you touch it first they may deny any warrenty repairs.

2007 Ford mustang lights go on and off interior lights dash lights and car shuts off, opened hood smoke from battery seems to be overcharging is this battery or voltage regulator.

Could be several things. The battery or alternator can be tested at most of your local parts store. I would start with those probably battery first then alternator as batterys are less expensive and earier to install. What ever u decide to do i would make sure to get both checked to avoid burning up a new battery if it is the alternator as well as the battery.

I have no headlights on 1988 mustang gt turn signals brake lights and parking lights and dash lights all work but the head lights wont come on checked all fuses and relays there all good thanks

Check headlight lamps... then follow the wiring from the bulb connections back and make sure you're getting a good solid ground connection. It may have a loose, broken, severed grounding wire.. it's usually attached to the car body at some location not far from the headlights.

Headlight cover discoloration

I called Volvo North America and after several days of call-backs was told that the 'factory' plastic doesn't stand up to heat and washing. I replaced them both with aftermarket units and the $300 per headlight alone was worth it but after 4 years (I have a 2004 t-6) the aftermarkets are still clear, go figure. Got them from www.autopartswarehouse.com for $200 each (dealer qutoed $525 + labor). BTW they install with only two clips on the top, don't let a dealer charge you more than $50 to replace them.
