Question about Pontiac Grand Prix

1 Answer

What does the P1676 code mean, and what is most likely the problem? My code reader says Driver 4 Line 6 but that means nothing to me. I have a 98 grand prix GT with the 3800 V6.

I don't know about your reader? but a P1676 is a evap vent solenoid control circuit problem. the solenoid could be stuck or the wires/connections could be corroded, open or shorted

Got DTC P1676 or TCS DTC
31? Replace the Ignition
Switch
NOTE: This article applies to '00-02 Accord V6s
and '99-02 Odysseys.
Got a vehicle in your shop with DTC P1676
(FPTDR signal line failure) or TCS DTC 31 (engine
retard command [PFINH] signal)? A bad ignition
switch (the electrical half) could be the culprit.
NOTE: On the HDS, you'll see TCS DTC 31 listed
as TCS DTC 31-2.
Inspect the ignition switch solder joints for any
signs of overheating. If you notice the solder joints
are melted, replace the ignition switch.

My Honda odyssey came with the code of p1676 what it that mean

This code is for a failed ABS or Traction control signal to the power train control module. Did the ABS light come on? If so, you will need a diagnostic scan to isolate the cause of the code. It could be an ABS sensor... wiring... ABS relay/module etc

Check engine light on, code # p1676 and PO 113

I don't show a code 113 for a Buick, but the code means the signal from the air temp sensor is high, which means the air temp is below zero or the sensor is faulty, or a problem with the wiring to the sensor.
Code 1676 is a problem with the canister purge solenoid which is how the computer vents the fuel tank. Could also be a problem with the vent for the tank.
