Question about 2004 Kia Optima
The speed sensor is what sends a signal to the speedometer. It's located on the transmission housing, usually at the output shaft. Have the engine codes read with a scanner to make sure that's what's causing the check engine light to illuminate.

Your ignition failure sensor has failed if you have a 2.4 liter engine it is located on the drivers side of the engine bolted on the side of the engine it is just a small rectangular or maybe square small box with four wires. sometimes it is marked ifs and made by mitsubishi. if you go to the dealer they charge you 271 dollars canadian, if you go to napa its about 80 dollars and if you go to a junk yard 6 dollar and 99 cents 2001 -2006 kia optima and 2000 -2005
