If you are reinstalling it onto a new replacement hood you may have to drill the hole especially if it's not an "OME" some times when you save money on the parts you have to do some of the labor, that's how they save on the cost. Also some of the emblems are held in place with 2 sided tape that is not what you can buy in the store. You might go by an auto body shop and ask for help, most good shop will give information to you for free, if you don't make a pest of yourself. off peak hours are better.

Even if it is an aftermarket hood it should still be "OEM" style. Most hoods come with the holes pre-stamped. If it has the holes in the outer facing panel all you need are two "tubular clips" as Honda calls them. Part number 91512-SR3-004. you can order these at your Honda dealer. They just push into the hole where the emblem goes from the outside. The back of the emblem should have two "studs" protruding, if not it will need to be replaced and should come with new clips. It is part number 75701-SM4-900. Should cost less than $20 even if you need the entire emblem.

Water on passenger floorboard.

HI. This will occur if the heater core has ruptured(leaking). This will allow for the transfer of coolant onto the passenger side floor. Replacing the core will solve this issue.

Installation of mercedes hood emblem e class 1998 E430

Look at the new one real close and you will see the locking device that has to be pulled down and turned. It is locked in place so the ormanent will fit through the hole. Just remove whats left of the old one. Push new one through the hole and hold in in place from the top while turning locking piece under hood  with pliers 1/4 turn. The locking piece is spring loaded so you will have to pull down and turn. That's it.

Hood emblem installation

Just put the replacement hood ornament in the hole and use a pair of pliers to pull down and turn the lock 1/4 turn clockwise. It is spring loaded and if you look real close at the ornament you will see what piece to pull down and turn. Right now it is locked in its shipping spot.
