Could be the radiator is full of bugs or normal road filth that accumulates. How is the coolant level in the radiator. Fill it if low. Were you stalled in traffic? Were you at high altitude, like in the rocky mountains or appalachian mountains. Check radiator cap. They are relatively in-expensive considering the job they do. The cap pressurizes the fluid in the radiator and prevents it from boiling out at higher altitudes or higher temperatures.

Your vehicle has a timing chain and does not need to be changed on a timeline. I have also never seem one go bad. The alternator belt and air conditioning belt do need to be replaced when they start to have visible cracks.

Fitted new battery to 523i 1999 bmw car did not start ,after 2 days of push starting car started on key now car will nut start

firstly check that your battery has a charge using a voltmeter, it needs to have 12v
if no charge, you will need to charge the battery.
if it has a charge, and the battery terminal connections are good, you will be looking for the the engine to turn(attempt to start)
if it turns and stasts, fine.
if the engine does not turn, you will need to look at the startermotor connections. (power supply to the starter motor via the ignition switch turns the engine)
hope this helps

Were is battery on a bmw 523i

To be completely honest, I know so few about the 2005 BMW's, but the battery location should be simple.

Typically they are located under the hood, usually by one one ofthe hood hinges. However, BMW has been know to put some of them in thetrunk (E46 325i). I have also seen some of them below the rear seat as well (Serie 3). Thebattery may have a cover over it, so it may be a little harder to see.

From my BMW catalog it shows it should be in the trunk, on the passenger's side. See this site: BMW Select

Hope helped with this (remember rated this help) Good luck.

the problem could also be your radiator cap and you need to make sure that you don,t have an air bubble in the system you also have to have the right amount of anti freeze in it but try the cap first seems so simple but it is a good possibility. hope this helps
