It might be your ecm going bad. When the jeep dies, does the check engine light illuminate on the dash or is it gone till the jeep is able to restart? If it does not light up when the jeep dies, then the ecm is definitely going bad and will need to be replaced. If there is no problem with the check engine light, then proceed with checking the coil.

What is an ignitor on an electronic ignition system

No. The ignitor is usually an ignition module mounted outside the distributor, on the fender well in most Toyotas. In early Chevys the equivalent part is the ignition module inside the distributor (which failed often). The capacitor at the base of the coil on early cars is a noise suppressor for the radio.

No spark on newer EFI cars is often the ignition module (ignitor), crank or cam sensor, or bad coil.

Honda odessey engine code p3100

There is no p3100 code!!

I think you copied this wrong. the code is p0301, which is a common one.

The P0301 code means that the cylinder 1 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 1. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem.

Possible causes
- Faulty spark plug 1
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 1
- Faulty ignition coil 1
- Fuel injector 1 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 1 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 1 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak

Most likely cause:
Faulty spark plug 1 or Faulty ignition coil 1 (Ignitor coil)

Either are easy fixes. Start with a new spark plug. If the problem continues replace the coil. Pic below. new about $30-$40.

Still no spark coils are good could it be crank position censor and where is ignition module

Yes bad crank sensor will cause no spark. Not all cars have ignition modules so ignitors may take place of them. Check your shop manual for full ignition information.

Were is a 1992 geo ignition control module

which engine 1.0L: 3 cyl? called a G10. or called LP2 by GM.
there are many parts. for ignition
the CMP sensor in the distributor
the ECU , generates all spark
via the ignitor and it runs the coil.
so what module do you what?
my wild guess is you have spark problems, does it run? at all?
the ECU will tell you when the CMP or ignitor is bad, did you ask it?
posting symptoms always wins over show and tell parts. huh>?
for sure that, not knowing the names.
so here is me, rolling dice on G10s

the CMP cam sensor is in the distributor.
the ECU sees those pulses, if bad sets a DTC error
then the ECU generates spark , all spark by
pulling the Ignitor
the ECU uses the ingitor (its just a large transistor)
that changes the induction coil and makes spark
the ECU also throws a DTC if the ignitor goes dead
to see said errors, insert the diagnostic connector jumper
and crank a dead engine (is it.) for 5 long seconds.
the ECU will in fact report, even 1 missing pulse in 10.
here is the drawing, (, has it , log in and read)

need help ask..
where is the ignitor or ECU?, which is it?, do say and can answer.
the ECM is located on the driver's side of the vehicle behind and below the instrument panel.
the ignitor is near the ign, coil
each generation of swift/metro has the ignitor in the ECU or outside
and varies by engine type. not stated.
the below is G10 ECU.
CMP, ECU, filter, ignitor and Ignition coil at bottom

Where is igniter lacated on rav 4 1998

98? what engine?
the ignitor can be in 3 places on all cars.
1: fire wall. connects to 1 coil, or 2 coils(WS) or 4 COPS.
2: ECU
3 :inside the COPS.

the ignitor changes the induction (spark) coil.
and can be in any of 3 places.

i log in to alldata dot com, so can you (a USA example ONLY)
it has 2 (4pin( Igniters)
so obvious has wasted spark.
power pin, ground pin and 2 , pins to ECU.

it says, in the finder, ignition coils 1and2 with ignitor
in coil finder, and service, it states
remove throttle body to access coils

see coils, ? see wire they go to one place, the ignitor
follow the those wires, see igniters.

My break and shifter are working i have to push the release button to put it in gear

like Abbott and Costello, (together ness)
no spark , not fire, no go. (gasoline otto cycle engines.)
no spark to plugs, do you have spark from the coil?
if not coil spark, then bad dizzy or bad ignitor, or bad coil. or fuse.

breaks, you mean brakes? you break your brakes/ ?
release button, ah the A/T tranny park lock out is failing.?
so the engine cranks,
and no spark and the park lock out is dead.
the park , will fail if the ignition power key fails. for spark power.
the release needs 2 thinks, brakes applied and ignition power, this
activate the shifter unlock solenoid.
the fuse is blown, in the cab fuse box. is my guess.

No spark from ignition coil to start the engine of suzuki vitara16v EFI engine. what is the cause of it

what year? what country? sounds like suzuki G16b engine. is it? or 2.0L?
The reasons are the same basically for G16 or the 2.0L
Both engines have ECU.
Both need good fuses to power ECU and coils.
Both engines need working CMP.
my guess is this is a distributor engien G16b (YOU SAND COIL NOT COILS.)
1: fuses, test the fuses relate to ECM/PCM (3 fuses)
2: g16B( CRANK FOR 5 seconds), with scan tool connected.
A $50 tool that is indispensable.
P0355 or P340 DTC , bingo, no spark.
or while cranking RPM is dead at 0 RPM.
if all that passes, then check the coil signals. (@ minus term)
The coil has an ignitor in the dizzy and both can go bad.
power 12v to ECU
CMP working
ECu sees CMP and sends spark to dizzy ignitor.
Ignitor , drives coil, coil makes spark ,engine runs.
nut shell

Spark plugs wont spark car wont start

ignition coil and the ignitor assembly within the distributor. The ignitor assembly grounds the ignition coil at a frequency to saturate and trigger the ignition coil. The coils fail relatively often. good-day!!
