If you are not to good with tools is better to take it to a good know mechanic, if you want to try your self you are gone a need a lot of patience, the manual requires to remove upper intake manifold, you dont need new gaskets unless you not carefull and ruin yours, there is a way to get those plugs out but only scale techs will do this and must have small hands, ENG MUST BE COLD A MUST

I can't find the spark plugs on my 2006 Toyota Solara. Could you tell me where they are located?

that vehicle does not have spark plug wires, you will see a coil for every cylinder, when you do is unplug the coil, remove the bolt holding it in and then lift it out, at the bottom of the hole is the spark plug.

What mileage do change 2006 toyota highlander spark plugs 3.3 v6

i would chande the plugs at or around 60,000 to 70,000 miles. this is about the correct mileage. they may last longer but not worth the expensence of converter damage due to misfire and also gas mileage loss.

Plugs

Changing the spark plugs is a pretty easy task. The spark plugs run along both sides of the engine, 1 per cylinder. (3 on each side) You can easily identify them by the plug wires running to them from the distributor. Pop off each plug wire, (1 at a time) and replace the spark plug. Once you have replaced the plug, replace the plug wire. This ensures that you dont mess up the sequence of the wires which determines which cylinder fires at what time in the cycle. VERY important not to mess up the sequence. If you should happen to get the wires mixed up, look online for the firing sequence for your vehicle and engine.
