OK IS THERE IS ACTUALLY A mis-FIRE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE SHAKING DURING IDLE AND ACCELERATION IF IT IS, here is what you do get a noid light this used to check injector pulse. This vehicle will set a misfire code if injector is not functioning efficiently or bad. A noid light is like a test light bulb can be bought at almost any auto store.SART UP VEHICLE AND DISCONNECT THE INJECTOR WIRE TO THE CYLINDER THAT'S mis-FIRING AND CONNECT noid LIKE TO ELECTRICAL PLUG. DO THIS ONE CYLINDER AT A TIME. The nod light should have a steady flickering light/consistent pattern of flickering. If there is Gap/irratic flickering or no flickering BINGO you have found your problem. NO FLICKERING= bad/broken injector wire if not broken BAD COMPUTER/ECU. IF THE FLICKERING IS CONSISTENT /GOOD = BAD INJECTOR..replace injector and solve the misfire problem. However is all the components tested are ALL GOOD. Then the only other SOURCE for a mis-fire is the camshaft sensor that provides reference for injector pulse and the crankshaft sensor provide reference for Spark pulse. JUST ON A LAST NOTE: make sure all oils are getting electrical power to them. Good Luck I know this is alot of info at once. Contact me if you need more help. Thanks fr using FIX YA

i had a similar problem and a gm garage took my instrument panel out and sent it off, there was a coroded connection on a transistor. (200 bucks) get it fixed

I beleive your firing order is 1 3 4 2. 1 and 4 are companion cylinders-meaning the piston is up or down at the same time i.e. compression and exhaust stroke both pistons are up and even on the exhaust stroke the ignition fires in order to burn unburnt fuel/ h ve you checked your trigger. There is a good coil testing tool that is placed over the coil and has a magnetic pickup that allows you to see if the coil is being triggered-just because you have power doesn't mean that you will have spark. I would replace your ignition wires and look at your wiring harness very carefully- if it is very brittle and you see bare wires exposed that is your most likley problem because the trigger is working for 1 and 3 and has the crank senser input for all for spark plugs and the cam senser is used for ignition advance and your fuel injection system. try wiggling your harness and see if your coils start to work. wireharnesses are a major problem on mercedes benz vehicles of that era. Keep in mind the spark plug wires is what transfers the electricty from the coil to the spark plugs #5 is bad then it is not going to receve proper curent.So usaly it is ideal to change all at the same time!don't forget to disconect battery to reset computer takes a couple of minutes to reboot the computer.Merry Christmas
