You have to lift the car to get under, suport it on jack stands for safety, the starter has a bolt from behind the eng towards trans housing, and another from trans to starter body ,the first this is the one you need to get from under the car, is a litle tricky, you will need a long extension and a swivel 14mm socked, you have to work this bettwen axle and eng block trougth pass wheel access.(remove tire). remove bolt unplug wires froms starter, now go to drivers side and look for the second bolt, you need same tools but a shorter extension, loose bolt have some one hold starter so does not fall get it out trougth passenger side, install new starter back track steps

Location of ac oriface on 1991 toyota carolla

Hello
Toyota doesn't use a fixed Orifice, they use what is called an "Expansion Valve" both part serve the same purpose to lower the pressure of a high pressure fluid to a low pressure gas. The expansion valve is located at the inlet to the AC evaporator core in the dash. Below is a picture of the valve.

You either need to adjust the idle or it may be an idle control sensor gone bad.

94 toyota carolla starter clicks eventualy starts

You have two options: replace the starter (easiest, but most expensive), or replace the contacts (cheaper, but more work involved).
In any case, you have to remove the starter. Disconnect the battery BEFORE you start. Locate the starter and remove the wires going to it. The starter is held onto the transmission with 2 large bolts. Remove both, and slide the starter out.

If you want to change the contacts, observe the starter, locate a metal plate held on with 3 bolts. Remove the bolts and the plate. You will now see a plunger, and 2 copper colored contacts. Those are what needs to be replaced. Changing the contacts is easy, just do one at a time, and ensure that all insulators are installed properly on reassembly.

Where is the starter on a 1993 Toyota Carolla?

To locate the starter, follow the large red battery cable down away from the battery until you come to a round gold and black unit with electrical wires connected to it. It will be bolted to the side of the engine, towards the bottom of the engine.

Before you can remove the starter, you MUST remove the black large cable from the battery.
