Question about 2003 Ford Focus

I was driving down the interstate when the engine hesitated and killed. I am able to start the vehicle but after time it kills again. I have a new battery that is only 5 days old and a rebuilt alternator that is approximatly 1.5 years old.

You may want to change out the EGR Valve............Hope this helps.

Hi Mike, Could be something to do with the battery and a loose connection, or a blocked fuel filter or defective pump, which is the most likely. Have a diagnostic scan carried out. Regards John.

sounds like poss chip in key playing up, try useing keys one at time u might find its one playing up, could be wrong but i have come accross this before on another car

Timing Chain Broke on CX-7 2007


The timing chain should of been changed at 30,000 or 60,000 miles it's in the owwners manual.

My car kills when at idle. has low r/min at idle.


Check the Idle Air Ctrl (IAC) motor. It should allow air to bypass the throttle plate when starting and at idle. if it is not working it could cause veh. to stall.
