I am looking for the location of the engine oil filter inside the engine compartment. Is there a diagram available perhaps, or at least a description? Thanks in advance

Here is a general guide to the layout of the engine compartment of a 1994 2.0 liter engine:
Battery: The battery is typically located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle.
Engine: The engine is located in the center of the engine compartment.
Radiator: The radiator is typically located at the front of the engine compartment, behind the grille.
Coolant reservoir: The coolant reservoir is usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle.
Fuse box: The fuse box is typically located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle.
Air filter: The air filter is typically located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle.
Throttle body: The throttle body is typically located at the front of the engine, near the top.
Engine oil filter: The engine oil filter is typically located on the passenger side of the engine, near the bottom.
Distributor: The distributor is typically located at the top of the engine, near the front.
Engine oil dipstick: The engine oil dipstick is typically located on the passenger side of the engine, near the front.
Don't know about a diagram, I don't see where that will help, but you might want to check the oil filter, oil filter adapter, oil pressure sensor all located at the oil filter, if you cant find it , clean the under side of the engine at the car wash and add engine dye to the oil, there is a kit that has a black light and yellow glasses in the kit, the additive is seperate, the light will make the additive glow yellow, always look at the highest point because oil spreads so bad, tighten the oil pan bolts not to tight, you will push the gasket out and have a worse problem. check around the front engine seal (front of the crank)
Your oil filter sits inside a housing with a cap, theres a tool thats used to remove the cap its like a big socket, you may also use a socket, if you open your hood and look at the motor, look down the engine toward trany you will see oil filter housing, let me see if a picture is available to help. here a diagram of the engine its of the engine componets i circled the filter housig.
The fuel filter is attached to a bracket located in the left rear of the
engine compartment. Look down in the space between the master cylinder
fluid reservoir and the rear of the air filter compartment, you will be
looking at the top of the fuel filter cannister. It's very hard to get
at.
LOOK UNDER CAR AROUND OIL PAN AREA.LOOK ON SIDE OF ENGINE ABOVE OIL PAN YOU WILL SEE OIL FILTER SCREWED IN BLOCK. TAKE LOOK AT YOUR NEW OIL FILTER THEN LOOK UNDER CAR YOU WILL HAVE A IDEA WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.BE SURE TO ALSO BUY A OIL FILTER WRENCH.
Its in on the left side front of the engine just below and to the right of the alternator. Its hidden from normal view and access to it is easier once the front wheels have raised by ramps. I apologize that no diagram is available. Regards, Joe ps - kindly rate my answer as helpful. thank you.
nazof is exactly right. Totally disregard emissionwiz and clint_carter. I have the exact same vehicle and have changed the oil and filter myself. The filter is located right in the middle, almost up against the firewall, after you pop the plastic engine cover. You must twist off a plastic cap and then pull the filter (a cartridge type) straight up and out. There are two replacement rubber rings that should come with your replacement filter. One goes on the plastic cap (just above the screw threads) and the other much smaller one goes at the end of a plastic rod that is connected to the cap.
If this is the V6 engine, your oil filter should be a canister type filter, it should be located on the passenger side, underneath at the front of the engine. You should see what looks like a black cap (about the size of an oil filter) your oil filter is located inside this canister. Hope this helps.
I have an 89 s10 blazer with the 4.3 tbi. the oil filter is a remote oil filter. there are two hoses running from the engine to the filter, which is located in the engine compartment in front of the left front wheel. it's mounted to the side.
