Maybe a fuse/bulb but I am sure you already checked those, you can disconnect the brake sensor and short out the wires and see if they come on if they do then it needs replaced. Hope this helps tim

How do you replace break light switch in 2008 gmc sierra 1500 k

You have not set the switch correctly, at rest the switch is operated and the lights will be on. The switch needs to be set resting on the brake pedal with the plunger depressed, as the pedal is pushed it moves away from the switch, the plunger extends and switches the lights on.

How to remove break light bulb in 2003 mitsibushi spyder

Check the brake light switch located on the brake pedal arm. Its above the pedal under the dash and has a connector with several wires attached to it. The switch is either bad, broken, or out of adjustment. If you have to step on the brake to shift out of park there is also a another switch located there as well.

The break lights won't light when i push the breaks but they work for every thing else like 4ways turn signal but when i go to stop they dont light up i replaced the switch and the bulbs but still dont...

When you replaced the brake light switch did you adjust it so that it contacts when it should?
It isn't enough to just replace it, you need to adjust the pedal height to specifications in order to make the brake lights work correctly.

My tail lights will not turn off when I shut the truck off.

Most likely a defective brake light switch. You'll have to replace the plunger switch located at or on the brake pedal arm under the dash.

Please help.I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan. When I start the van the rear break lights would turned on automatically. When I step on the break the lights stays the same,no indication of breaking from the rear...

You have a bad break switch. It is located under your dash, above your break pedal. The stem of your break pedal, when pushed down, activates the break switch. When you push, the break light comes on. It is chrome looking. It is a round cylinder. That should fix you up. If you need anything else, please let me know. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Rear break lights don't work anymore. Reverse, parking break and flashers still work. Any ideas?

Did you check the brake pedal switch? Usually it is under the steering column were your brake pedal arm resting on it! Stepping on brake pedal makes the switch supply power to brake lights, check if its still working or wires been cut off or the connector got disconnected!

Break light problem

If you have a test light, check the brake light switch (usually mounted at the top of the break pedal arm). The switch will have voltage on one wire....when the pedal is pressed, the switch closes the circuit and sends voltage to the other wire connected to the brake lights.

The break lights dont work.

Are you sure it is a bulb issue, if all the brake lights are not working chances are it may be a brake light switch which is located on the brake pedal assemly.
If it's the bulbs, there are two screws holding each rear light assembly in place, open the hatch, they are on the hatch side of the lights, remove the screws and then the light will come free, to reove the sockets just rotate them and they will come out. pull the bulbs out and reverse all the steps.
If you need a switch, let me know, I'll give you the steps for replacement.
Good luck
