I hear a flutter sound when my air conditioner is running. Sounds like leafs fluttering, but looked under hood and couldn't see any. What could this be. Been like this over a week now, friend said it was...

Your friend is probably correct in that it's a leaf or debris of some sort. You may have to remove the blower motor to get it out it may actually have worked its way to the blower motor. Unfortunately at that point the only option.

The firing order for the spark plugs are wrong how do i find a digram for that

Hi my name is Tom and I am here for you.

The firing order is stamped or molded into the head or block. I remember using it 2-3 times when I was changing head gaskets. I am now going to assume that the same is true today.

If you ask nicely and buy your parts at the same place every time or a dealer, most will give you the firing order and you to not have to strip the car down to find it.

I trust these suggestions are of help. If you need any additional help feel free to call or email me. Please rank my information. This is the only way I have of improving my skills in helping you and others.

Engine ticks and steering vibrates when certain

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

Tick or click sounds are usually the sign of a tappet or sticky valve. I am not a great fan of engine cleaners, but If you are looking at a valve replacement, what have you got to loose. Follow the directions on the bottle and you may save yourself a lot of money.

Before you take the Volvo in for a valve job. I suggest you let me know and I can "walk" you through removing the valve cover and "freeing" up the sticky valve if the engine cleaner does not work.

I trust this has been helpful to you. Please let me know if I have been and help. This is the only Payback I get and I want to to improve my skills in helping others. Also, rank me as to my level of helpfulness.

Feel free to call or email me.

When it rains, my car will not start for days afterwards? it happened before and i waited a few days and it started, i figured it just dried out? now it has happened again and it has been plenty long...

Hi my name is Tom and I have your answer.

It is either all your plugs are bad, your distributer has a crack in int , or your plug wires are grounding out on the engine. I suggest you call up a friend and have him drive you to the auto parts store and get the following parts:
Distributor, rotor, spark plugs, a good set of high resistance wires. If you do not have any tools, ask the clerk what you will need to do a tune up.

Replace all of these items and you have a car that will start. You may be asking why not replace the cap only. I will bet the Cubs winning the world series that there has not been a tune up for a long time. It is not worth the grieve and aggravation to replace just one part.

Now, if the car does not start I will come to your house and repair the car myself. Let me know how things turn out and if I need to book a flight.

Also, please answerer the question of how helpful I was to your problem. This is the only way I can improve my skills in helping others.

If you need further help pleases call or email me.

Passenger windown is stuck in the down position

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

You did not say if you have power windows, but I will assume you have. Remove the door panel and you should see the window motor. You can then run wires from your battery to the motor. If the motor is good it should bring the window up or down.

If no good, replace the motor. If good look for a break in the electrical lines from the dash to the motor.
This a fairly difficult task. I can help you through the rough sport. Simply call or email me and I can be of further help.

Please take the time to rank my suggestions and if I was any help to you. This way I can improve my skills in helping others.

Unable to start. Replaced starter motor with a new one. When engaging key to turn on clicking noise from left kick panel from computer area

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

I believe your battery is low or no longer can crank the engine at the time it is engaging. The clicking sound you hear is the starter solenoid engaging. If the amount of "juice" was up to specs. the cars' engine should turn over.

A recommend having someone jump start your car using jumper cables. This will take your battery's job away and tell you if the battery is bad. If your car starts, then you know you have a bad battery.

If you do not have a jump possibility, you can take the battery to an auto parts store and they can check the battery for starting capability. I would rather you get a jump start, since the store has a job of selling you a new battery and I have been "burned" by stores in the past.

I trust this info has been of some help. If you have any question or I can be of further help, do not hesitate to call or email me. Also, please take the time to rank me on how helpful I was. This is the only way I can improve my "helping" skills.

If you or a friend have basic mechanical skills, you can repair this yourself for about $150 per side. The dealer will charge $300-$400 per side.
