SOURCE: My 2003 subaru forester idle very rough. if you

1) Check all the vacuum hoses for a leak in the rubber hose or a hose that isn't connected. Vacuum leaks cause motors to shake and stumble on acceleration.
2) There's a plastic T connection on the back side of the engine behind and under the air cleaner box. That T connector joins together three air hoses of different sizes and is prone to breaking from heat stress. Only a Subaru dealer will have this part.
3) Even though the spark plug wires are new, you may have a bad one. Don't waste your money on cheap parts; they cost more in the long run.
Good luck!

SOURCE: 1998 dodge Neon no fire to coil

it sound like you have a bad crank sensor when the sensor gets hot it open circuits inside the sensor and you loose spark if you have access to a noid light see if you are loosing injector pulse also if so then you know its a good chance its the crank sensor

What causes the Subaru forester to stop firing from the coil pack to the plugs on other pots?

On the Forrester it could be the coil wire, swap the suspect cylinder wire with a good one or temp with one that is firing, if it switches to the other cylinder then u know your wire is bad, if not the coil needs to be replaced. BTW if its been runing a while like that be sure to check the sparg plug and clean it up as its probably fouled now

2006 subaru outback, missfire code - cylinders 1 and 3. Could it be coil or plugs and wires I'm told at service shop. Anybody come across this?

had miss fires with my 92 legacy gt.typical suby fault coil packs always go out in saying that check that you dont just have a foul or failed spark plug. easy fix if it is the coil i replaced mine with 2nd hand ones from the same model usualy find them at most subaru specialists wreckers etc depending on model.

Engine miss on #3 cyl. new plugs, wires, and coilpack

check for vaccum leaks, gasket leaks, injector leaks! and test coil packs to see if module is good and you get spark to every cylinder and see if you get fuel to every cylinder.
How many miles do you have? Is the motor tired?
