Basically the enging light is always on in my car. I changed coils valves you name it I did it.more recently I have been told it's the 'egr' valve or something. I had this part changed a number of tins each time a genuine vw part. I have spent a fortune. Last two times this part when there was a 'poof' noise and next thing the car sounded like a tractor but the exhaust is fine.

Hi i have a 2005 model 1.4 polo TDI, and sometimes when i'm driving it would cut power but still drives not with the initial power it had before, what could be the problem?

You need to have a Diagnostic test done by plugging in a fault code reader to determine the cause of the fault. The car will be going into limp home mode ie engine management light on it reduces engine performance. if you have a yellow spanner symbol then the likely cause is due to one of the engine electrical components such as the egr valve solenoid or maff (air flow meter)

VW POLO-52 plate EPC light on dash

My Polo had a similar problem and the brake light switch at the brake pedal was replaced. Then the computer was reset and the EPC light issue was resolved. It has something to do with the engine management, when sensing the light switsh being activated, retarding the power of the engine.

VW Polo Classic 1.6 Radiator fan not going on

Try moving the fan blades by hand to see if the fan spins freely to see if the problem is frozen bearings in the fan motor. Replace the fan motor if it doesn't turn. If it spins freely disconnect the wires and hook the fan directly to the battery using a jumper. If it runs the problem is most likely the thermostatic switch. If it doesn't the fan motor is bad.
