What loc converter are you using for this? and what is the rating of the amplifier..I'm assuming you've already run the impedance matching scenario, right?

no offense to ginko, who's usually right on, but I don't see any wires in that diagram that qualify

the amplifier would need a special connector, shielded cable most likely, to make it work without a buzz...

    does this resemble your system?

not precisely..as you can see...that maker is a little different from the one you quoted..seems that there might be some similarities, but that note at the bottom, seems to have some value.

you can either leave the fixya with ginko(who's a chum of mine) or make another decision..

1997 pontiac grand prix gtp factory amp

Apparently it was available with and without. If you have a pair of sub speakers, then you have the amplifier. The factory radio was equipped with inputs for an optional multi-disc CD player so connecting an aftermarket player should be easy. You may have to add a 10A CD CHG fuse to the fuse block, ground the unit to a BLK/WHT wire, and connect the right output wire to connector 3 pin 10, the left output wire to pin 11, and the audio common lead to pin 12.

What does check DAB mean

Dab means Digital Audio Broadcast. It is a radio and a high description radio. It is an audio broadcasting in which the analogue audio is converted into a digital signal and henceforth transmitted on an assigned channel (usually AM or FM frequency range). It put forward CD class audio on the FM broadcast band and to put forward AM class broadcast band on the AM.

I'm trying to install a new stereo and i have all the wires on the wiring kit done but the acc wire. where does this go? i was told by someone to hook it to the cig wire or the ignition wire. how do you do...

you can tap into any 12 volt accessory wire right off of the fuse box, look for the cigarette lighter fuse and follow the wire from there. also -- if you removed a radio from the car before the install of the new radio there should be a accessory wire that ran to that one -- I would use that.

How do I connect a line output converter to my factory head unit

depending on the type of line out converter that you have you simply just take the speaker wires coming from the head unit (you must know the color codes for the wires or you can do the process of elimination by pulling off the door panels and and viewing the colors and matching them at the wire harness behind the head unit). Pull out electric fuse for radio so you dont blow it while hooking up the wires. After you have done that just connect the speaker wires coming out of the head unit to the line out converter this will pre-amp your signal. After you have done that step on the other side of the loc you will have to connect and run rca audio cables to the back of your car to hook into your amplifier. The last step is to splice the power and ground wire coming from the wire harness and connect the radio power wire and loc power wire to the main power wire and then connect the radio ground wire and the loc ground wire to the main ground wire. Test and your done with the loc.
