My spark plugs are banged up, why? - Sentra Nissan Cars & Trucks

Either the plugs are the wrong application and too long, or you have timing issues, with a broken belt or jumped a couple of teeth. The valves hit the plugs. Not Good. Got to diagnose and fix.

Car turns over but won't start, also no spark from plugs and some oil going through the internal of distributor. Car did have dirty fuel but I cleaned the tank and lines. Still no go!

Something similar happened to me. Car is getting old, however look to replacing your spark plugs and check that you fuel pump is going okay. When you start up, have someone bang away on the fuel tank to see whether this gets the pump working. Try these for starters, but I'm sure there are more expert people who may be able to help.

Whats the problem when the rpms go up when you put a 2004 dodge durango in reverse and the transmission is not sliping

Sounds like a faulty fuel injector. RPMS don't have anything to do with transmission. They have to do with the revolutions per minute of the engine which is controled by the 4 forces of combustion, Spray, Flash, Bang, Blow. Spray is the fuel going into the engine (injector), flash is the spark (spark plugs), bang is fuel lighting to make the "explosion", and blow is the force of the explosion against the piston turning the crank shaft in the engine, there by causing a revolution. The forces that control this process are fuel, oxygen, and flame. Because it's reving too high, you know it's not a spark plug problem. Check your fuel injectors and your air intake to the engine. Hope it helps!

The car will turn over but it doesnt sound like its getting and power to the spark plugs or the fuel pump

take out plug at night put it against metal object see if you see spark. If fuel pump bang on gas tank were fuel pump is located if it starts and runs for awhile you will no that it is the pump.

The car has started to shake when idle, with a faint banging noise

It's probably either a faulty spark plug, or spark plug wire, or a sticking valve lifter. I can't hear the noise, but if it's a tapping noise, it'll be a lifter. Try going to any parts store, and getting some engine additive. There are dozens on the market, but a cup of transmission oil in the crankcase will do the same thing.
If it's not that, then replace plugs and wires.

Changed Plugs and car is running rough.

Spark plugs come pre gaped but, it is still always good practice to check them. They get dropped and banged around in shipping. Check to see if the plug wires are on the correct spark plugs.
