Question about 1998 Toyota Camry
The bast thing to do if you have to ask how to remove it, is to get a manual for your vehicle. This will provide instructions on removal AND replacement.
First you disconnect the battery from the vehicle (10mm open or socket wrench will do)
The remove the serpentine belt by releasing the tension on the idler pulley. Slide the belt off the alternator pulley.
Disconnect ALL wires (usually plugs) including the ground wire (usually separate) .
Using the appropriate sized tool, remove the bolts holding the the alternator to the accessory frame of the engine.
To install reverse the process EXACTLY. Connect the battery LAST.
Take the old alternator back to the store for the core charge refund.
I still recommend getting a manual for your vehicle.
good luck and don't forget to vote!!!
