Question about 2002 Ford E350

1 Answer

I have a 1995 E350, 5.8, 130k miles. Always well maintained. Replaced Plugs, Cap & Rotor, Fuel Filter & Air Cleaner prior to a 3,500 mile trip. Now, 3 weeks have passed, van starts & seems to idle okay, with a very slight miss. However, under a LOAD, seems to have about 1/3 the power and sound terrible under a load accelerating. I pulled 5 (accessable) plugs to inspect & seemed very clean. Check-Engine light is NOT on. Any ideas what to look for next?

The maint. was performed prior to the trip. It performed flawlessly until now. Timing was checked, fuel pressure is well within required limits. Cat was removed to verify no restriction. Compression checked. Results in now, odd as it seems, the distributor wiring was suddenly exhibiting high resistance. Strange that this seemed to be a sudden event, but indeed after wiring was replaced, engine problem vanished.

Maybe the timing is off, could ir be that you accidently moved the distributor while replacing the cap and rotor? If you have acces to a timing light give it a try. Good Luck.

No. Note, I indicated the maint. was performed prior to the trip. The truck performed flawlessly until now. Timing was checked, fuel pressure is well within required limits. Cat was removed

Fail smog for high emission

you need to do a major tuneup !!!!!!! replace air & fuel filters, spark plugs & plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, replace OXYGEN SENSOR, change oil & filter, hopefully your catalitic converter is ok, if not , it should be replaced !!!!!!!!!!! together w/tuneup would be the best way to assure passing emissions !!!!!!!!

1999 Chevy G-30 utility van code p-0174 , cleaned then replaced MAFcleared code, back on 50 miles later, found vacum leak hose off vac. ball, code cleard 50 miles light back on,

what size engine do you have in the g-30 van. is it the plastic plenum. if it is there are rubber o-ring seals that go bad all the time and will cause the p0171,p0174,p0172,p0175 these are all lean codes also check for fuel pressure to make sure it is up to specs.
have you changed your fuel filter lately this can effect fuel trims.

To get a tune up on m 95 cadillac deville what parts do I need.

I would start by getting spark plugs and spark plug wires. And find out (through part store)what the gap is for your plugs. Then i would replace the cap and rotor and check your air filter. If you have over 60,000 miles i would also change the trans.filter and fluid

Spark plugs
Spark plug wires
Distributer cap
Rotor (if applicable)
Air Filter ?

Cannot get my 95 blazer lt 4door 4.3 litre v6 to pass emmisions at idle.tried new hotter plugs, new cap an rotor.wires.fuel filter.can anyone help me with this.everythings fine except the idle is high on...

Hotter plugs, are for when your getting too much oil on them. Fuel filter has no effect on emissions. Did you put a light on timing? Air filter clean? EGR working? Check 02 Sensor? Getting any codes stored? Converter not rattling, when you bang on it with your hand? Oil clean, try full synthetic. PCV system tight,no leaks.Don't throw parts at it. Always test,to be sure you even need to change parts.I'am not a fan of injector cleaner, but in your case!!

Rough idle no power when given gas

check spark plug connections,if you didnt replace the cap and rotor ,they will fail quickly, because new wires and plugs are going to demand more current, old cap and rotor just cant handle,is that the mass air flow sensor that you replaced?very delicate part, must be clean, and mounted securely, double check part no. make sure they gave you the right one,if you put in a used one ,all i can say is that you get what you pay for.check fuel pressure, its possible that the fuel pump is starting to fail, and the tune up has nothing to do with the problem(consider this option only if nothing else works)

Whats included in a 120k maintance

This almost always if different depending on the shop you take you car to. The best way is to look in your owners manual, pick your diving conditions, normal or extended use, and see what Mistubishi recommends. Should be at least, oil change, rotate, brake inspection, air filter, spark plugs, plug wire set, timing belt. On a Mits with over 100k miles I always recommended Distbutor cap and rotor, Transmission flush(for auto), Induction flush.
