You would need to get a buddy to post the diagram on a chevy owners forum. Otherwise it can't be found for free

Solenoid wiring diagram

If you have a relay to the starter solenoid then red one from the battery then red from the relay to the starter solenoid. The starter solenoid earth wire goes into the starter housing for the brushes if not then the red wire from the battery goes direct to the starter solenoid big terminal. The other big terminal will already got inside the housing. That takes care of the really heavy wires . The small wire goes to the little terminal between the big terminals.

I need the starter wiring diagram

In the starter you have the B+ terminal which is power from the battery. The other big gauge wire which goes from the solenoid to the actual starter motor supplies power to the motor once the solenoid switch makes contact during cranking. The other wire the smaller gauge wire is power from the ignition switch. The starter grounds through its case. Hope this helps.

I am installing a push button starter switch on a 1973 chevy pickup with manual 4 speed trans. What are the colors of the wires on the starter switch do I need to connect my switch to? Jack

If you look at the wire to the starter solenoid it should be green or orange. That will be the wire to use. The solenoid as you know needs power to rune the starter only and a push button switch will do alright for you. Just hide it in a good spot were know one will activate it while the engine is running. That will be bad for the flywheel and starter drive

Starter

hi clarence,

first of all you need to know what is the starter in order to remove it. if you can trace the big wire that comes from the positive wire of your battery to a big round thing at the bottom part of the engine. that round thing is the starter. before you start removing bolts, remove first that big wire from the positive terminal of the battery. it is normally bolted to the engine by three or two bolts. there are two wires that you need to remove first before removing the starter. a big wire from the battery and a small wire that controls the solenoid of the starter. after you remove the wire, remove the bolts that is holding the starter in place and the starter would drop down. the you can repalce it or repair it.

i hope i was able to solve your problem. please rate me.. tnx.
