1997 chevy malibu ls heater core repairs


Entire dashboard has to be removed. Ac system may have to be discharged in order to replace heater core. Probably a 10 to 12 hour job.

I have a 1997 Malibu 3.1, no fire at the spark plugs. Ignition module checked good so I replaced the crank sensor but still no fire at plugs. What could be the problem?


you have to check spark plug fire with a HEI plug. you didn't mention the coil primary and secondary coil check with del test light

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the shift control handle by unfastening the retaining clip and lifting the handle off.
  2. Gently pry upward on the trim plate in order to disengage the retainers from the console.


NOTE It may be necessary to move both seats several times to properly remove the center console.
  1. Remove the rear cupholder.
  2. Unfasten the 6 retaining screws, then remove the console.

Try to start the engine but it want start . so i checked to se if the fuel pump was getting fier to the positive wire and it was . so i changed the fuel pump but it is still doing the same thing. so I...


I ran into this problem with one of these at my shop. Gave me a fit for a week. Replaced quit a few parts. After lots of time and money, I finally fixed it by adding a ground wire from the negative battery post to one of the distributor mounting bolts. These also have problems with the distributors.

How to replace front wheel bearings on a chevrolet malibu 1997


  1. take caliper off
  2. knock off wheel bearing dust cover
  3. take out cotter pin
  4. take nut off
  5. pull hub off
  6. outer bearing will fall out
  7. inner bearing if put nut back on couple of threads put hub over nut let lay on spindle an pull hard toward you the inner bearing will come off and seal
  8. replace bearing/seal
  9. grease bearing you can use bearing packer or put grease in palm of hand and push bearing into palm to get grease in bearing
  10. re-assemble in reverse order

a miss fire is usually caused by a bad spark plug, wires, or coil not producing enough voltage.

Cylinder #2 Misfire-after intake manifold replaced


It's possible he has two plug wires crossed, or pulled a spak plug wire apart replace #2 spark plug wire First. To test check the firing order and make sure all the wires on the right plugs and the correct place on the distributor, if it is right, then buy a can of carburator cleaner and spray around the intake gasket if the engine revs up when you spray the carb cleaner around the intake manifold with (engine running) if the engine rpm revs up you have an intake leak.
