Why does the and and brake light stay on at random.

Are you talking about the brake light on the dash or the rear brake lights?
If the dash light is on try cleaning the level sensor in the reservoir. other reason for this could be the pressure distribution valve or sensor.
if it is the back light pull on the pedal to see if they go off, if so replace the switch under the pedal.
Good luck.

Can extreme cold cause brake light on dash to come on?

Often, the brake light on dash indicates low brake fluid. Check that first. Cold could affect the level a tiny bit so that warm it's close to low level, cold is on low level.

have you topped up the brake fluid level,if so unscrew it again and replace,is the brake fluid leval ok,the only other item that will keep light on is a faulty switch behind the pedal.get a can of silacone spray and spray it on the switch at the back of pedal and see if this works, put a cloth over the pedal to stop the oil dropping on the pedal.adrian,,,

1998 Plymouth Breeze brake panel light - what does it mean? No owner's manual in car.

the brake light illuminated on the dash will indicate that either the emergency brake is on, the brake fluid is low, or there is a problem with the brake system. Make sure the e-brake is off. If the pedal feels normal check the fluid level in the reservoir. If its low add fresh BRAKE fluid from a new sealed container.

My 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan brake lights will not go off. I checked the energency brake.

Good Evening, the first place to start is to look down by your brake pedal and pull it up and see if your brake light goes off. (this is of course assuming it is your brake light behind the vehicle) If it is the brake light on the dash check your brake fluid level and be sure that is full ( on the minivans this is the #1 cause I run into for the light being on the dash). However if it is your rear brake lights suspect your brake switch up under the dash attatched to a bracket by the pedal. Hope this helps whichever way it is.
Thanks,
Joey

BRAKE LIGHT ON DASHBOARD ALWAYS ON, ALL BULBS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY..BRAKE LIGHTS, STOP LIGHTS, DIRECTIONAL LIGHTS ETC

Check your brake fluid level in the reservoir; some Toyotas have wheel cylinder sensors; some Toyotas have master cylinder sensors; you also have a sensor on the parking brake and on the brake pedal inside the cab. Check all that.

Brake light on the dash board goes on while pushing the brakes

The brake light coming on signifies a low level of brake fluid in the resevoir.Because it only comes on when you push the pedal it's borderline on level. It needs to be topped up and check under the car for leaks. A leaking line is the most common cause of brake fluid. Have you noticed a change in the feel of the pedal lately? Has it gone spongy or hard? Either are a sign of leaking brake lines. Hope this helps.

Brake light is on and its saying urgent what does that mean

Have you checked your brake fluid? As your brake shoes start to wear it requires more and more oil to push the brake shoe to the disc or drum so during the life of your brakes you should check the brake fluid level periodically. I think there is a low brake fluid level sensor that warns you if you're getting low. It's also a sign your brakes could be nearing the end of their life. If you run them till they're metal to metal it will significantly increase your repair bill as you'll have to have new rotors or drums or have them turned.
