Do you have a check engine light on?? If so, have the vehicle scanned at autozone for the error code. If it isn't on, this may be caused by faulty crankshaft or camshaft position sensor. Cam sensor controls firing and crank sensor controls fuel. This issue needs to be physically diagnosed!!

I'm pretty sure your car is equipped with a cold-start valve which may be sticky and this could explain the random hard-starting.
This valve serves as a choke did on carburetter-equipped cars and enriches the fuel-air mix with a cold engine.
This might not cause a warning light since it is a temporary condition.

There is no COLD START INJECTOR (NOT VALVE) on these 3.5L motors. These motors are not comparable to carb motors, its an advance set-up. Instead they use individual fuel injectors that fire immediately, NO NEED for a Choke. If a cam or crank sensor is going out, it WILL NOT set off the chk engine light, but will cause hard starts. Leaking fuel injectors may also cause a hard start because they flood cylinders when engine is OFF. Fuel-Air ratio mix is 100% computer controlled by these sensors/components: MAP, Air temp, IAC valve, cam 1

Gary: Please note I neither stated the car had a cold start valve (or injector) nor did I claim it had a choke.
Please read what I wrote, not what you think I wrote.

SOURCE: my 2004 nissan maima fails to start on the first

The guy who told you its a possible fuel line issue... could very well be spot on .

Try this...
When you get into the car.. turn the key on... and wait for the fuel pump to stop pumping...(pressurising the system) and then start the car...

2004 nissan turn over but wont start. replace fuel pump and still got the same result

could be a problem with engine electrical or still with fuel delivery. unhook a fuel injector line while it cranks and see if it shoots out spurts gas, just as the fuel pump line is supposed to shoot out a stream of gas while cranking. if you replaced the fuel pump, and no gas shoots out the disconnected fuel pump line, there is an electrical problem, (fuse, relay or wiring issue) to your new fuel pump. if the gas spurts out the loose injector line, then move on to electrical:

first ensure your ignition coil has spark by disconnecting the coil ouput lead and shorting it out to the chassis of the car. you should see a spark, when you short that circuit while cranking. if you have spark, you will have to move on to the spark plugs/ cables, then the distributor cap/coil packs.

if its part of the electrical system, it will be sensitive to temperature/humidity, and that may be why it only fails to start early in the morning. if it were the fuel injector, it would be more likely to start cold, and NOT re-start after it had already been warmed up and cut off recently.

When I turn key to start my 2004 Titan I am getting a click on right hand passenger side dash area instead of starter engaging with increasing frequency. Autozone found no codes and battery, starter,

Thats normally a sign of bad connection on battery terminals friend.

Try undoing them and taking them apart to clean up the battery posts and cable connectors then reconnect tightly.

What happens is the bad connection wont let a LARGE current throgh, So when you turn the key, all you are hearing is the little solenoid trying to send large current to the starter motor which is not happening.

It is a simple and VERY cheap job.

2004 nissan sentra won't start, battery ok, just keeps turning over

Check for spark on any spark plug wire. If you have a strong blue spark, the ignition system is probably good, so then check for gas-is the fuel pump turning on for 2 seconds with key on, not start? It should and that will put gas up to the engine. If you don't hear the pump turn on briefly to pressurize the line and fuel rail (where the injectors are), you will need to troubleshoot the fuel pump circuit. Check the fuel pump fuse-probably under the hood in a fuse/relay block.

Light just came on when started vehicle. Another code followed P0430. Vehicle seems to run fine. thanks

P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2

The ECM or PCM monitors the switching frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2.

A three way catalyst converter(Manifold) with high oxygen storage capacity will indicate a low switching frequency of heated oxygen sensor 2. As oxygen storage capacity decreases, the heated oxygen sensor 2 switching frequency will increase.

When the frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2 approaches a specified limit value, the three way catalyst (Manifold) malfunction is diagnosed.

Possible Causes:
- Three way catalyst converter Bank 2
- Exhaust tube
- Intake air leaks
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Fuel injector leaks
- Spark plugs may be faulty
- Improper ignition timing
- Engine Control Module

Possible Solutions:
The most common cause it the three way catalyst converter Bank 1.

If the P0430 is combined with other DTC's try fixing those first and this code may clear.

I am having a problem with my car starting. It mainly happens when in the garage and when its been sitting overnight. It seems to good battery. It ALWAYS does start, but only after trying it 3-4 times after...

if still under warranty have dealer perform fuel rail residual pressure test.probably defect w/pressure regulator /check valve in fuel tank.fuel rail does not hold residual pressure so when you start after sitting for extended periods it takes time for pressure to build up and vehicle to start.

2002 Nissan Xterra will not start. It acts like it needs gas but it doesnt. It Just died unexpectantly while driving.

most likely the fuel pump. First check fuel pump relay, listen for pump coming on when you turn on the switch. If it does, try changing the fuel filter next.

How do you check to see if fuel pump went bad on 2004 Nissan Tita

Careful doing this. Disconnect the fuel filter line between the tank and the filter. Have a bucket or equivalent below to catch incomimg gasoline pouring out. Have some one turn the ignition key to on. Do Not Try and turn the key to START!! Just turn the key to the ON position. This will kick in the oil switch to feed gas to the engine for 5 seconds. If gas comes out the pump works. Reconnect the filter and try again. If no start is happening still disconnect the fuel filter's line towards the front of the engine this time. Turn the key ON. If gas comes out the filter is fine. If not the filter is clogged up fully

Computer reads multiple misfires rough idle trouble starting

The air fuel mixture sensor is probably starting to fail. You need to have a simple diagnosis done at the shop and then have it replaced - they are usually not much a reputable mechanical shops. When the motor warms up your air/fuel mixture changes hence the rough idle etc. Hope this helps.
