Usually you do not have to remove the door panel for access, as the switch assembly comes out before the door panel. Typically door pulls have screws, and the door panel will have a screw or two, look near the bottom of the panel and around arm rests for screws. When they're all out, the panel comes out by prying the panel away from the door frame, you will see numerous plactic retainers that are pressed into place, these usually are reusable, but if they break, get new ones.

SOURCE: 1989 Buick Century Power Window Problem

it sounds like a bad ground somewhere maybe a wire is shorting out . My windows wouldn't work so I just ran some wires from my battery and then unhook the two wires from the window switch and just touch the wires from the battery together with the switch wires and Presto the windows go up or down it is not very pretty but it is a lot better than spending a small fortune on window motors or switches or whatever . hope this helps

SOURCE: want to remove driver side door panel to gain access to power window motor

first remove the tweeter speker if equipped this comes off easily by gently prying from behind, then remove the small panel behind pull handle you"ll find a screw behind it\remove that, the next part is a little tricky the door grip needs to come off to achieve this place a small flat screwdriver at the top of the handle and pry forward the turn handle counterclockwise and this will release it from the clips you"ll then find 2 screws one at the top other at the bottom of door grip remove those and then gently pry from the bottom of the door panel to release the retaining clips thats it

SOURCE: learn to remove front door panel to access window

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Try the switch on the pass side door. Otherwise you need to remove the drivers door panel, access the switch, print a wiring diagram and jump power to the window motor with a jumper wire.

Remove and replace drivers side power window switch

I am assuming its the drivers door window you are speaking of....
The drivers door has the master window switch w/lockout. The entire assembly must be replaced. The individual switches on the drivers door can't be replaced by themselves. Some GM vehicles allow the panel with the switch assembly to be removed without removing the door panel. However, most require the door panel to be removed for access to the window switch assembly. The master door/window switch assembly is not cheap, by the way.
I would check/replace the window relay first. Usually located under the dash, or under one of the seats.
Might just be the window motor on the problem window.

Hi, that wire is disconnected when the door panel is removed to work on the window motor. Take the car back and ask them to reconnect your door locks. If you want to fix it yourself, you may be able to access the connector by removing only the control panel where the door lock switch is installed. Remove any visible screws and then pry gently to pull up the panel. Odds are, however, that the whole door panel will need to be pulled loose to find the cable. You can possibly just pull the bottom of the panel loose, but do it carefully. Feed the wire back up to the control panel and reconnect to the switch. Thanks for using Fixya.

How do i replace the window motor

This is a common problem with driver side window. Its just a wear and tear problem. Don't go to the dealership, the Regulator will cost you over $230. Go to Amazon.com and search for the part number which should cost you only $70-80 or so. If you go to a glass place they will charge you dealership price plus $150 per hour. Accessing the speaker on driver side door panel.

You will have to remove the entire door cover. Remove any screws you can see, pop off the cover behind the door handle remove screws behind that, pop off the plastic that holds power window switches and unplug them, then you will have to pull the door panel upwards to remove.

Drivers door panel removal

The book says 1. remove power accesory switch panel by using suitable flat blade tool at front. 2. Disconnet electrical connections.
3. pry door handle plug by using small flat bladed tool
4.remove door trim handle mounting screws
5. remove door trim panel from retainers.Start at rear bottom corner and pry outward.
6. remove door panel.
KD does make a tool that will properly pry the door panel away from reainers. KD 3705 You might get by with a screwdriver.
One other thing you may need to have the window down to get the panel to come off. You will have to lift up on it once it is loose from the fastners.
Hope this helps you out.
