The Door Lock Module which is located behind driver side door panel with wires from lock switch itself. It has to be checked. Either the switch is faulty or the door lock module is faulty. The door panel gets wet and this causes the short in the wires causing this problem. But if all checks out ok then this problem is related to fuse block. There are many other 4runner user having this same problem.

The fuse block you need to replace is below the steering wheel. There is a small access panel that pops out. You need to remove the larger panel which has 4 bolts I believe. I would remove the panel completely so it is not in your way. You will need to remove the hood and fuel tank thing's which both have 2 screws.
The fuse block is beige or yellow in color. There are a bunch of wire harnesses that connect to it but they are all configured differently so you don't need to worry about plugging the wrong harness in the wrong place. It is difficult to access but you will save approx $250 if you spend an hour on it yourself. At
Toyota dealership, the fuse block would be near to $459.00.------But before replacing the fuse block check its connection. In some cases its just loose connection. So you will not have to spend anything to fix this just a minute reconnection of the loose or broken wire.

The control panel under the driver side dash. if you push the control panel/fuse box in while working the key fob and/or door lock switch, it works in some cases.------ Insert a t-ball (regulation size) between the fuse box/control panel and the paneling closest to the driver on the top side of the fuse box. Wedging a T-ball in there is only a crutch. The actual fix is to locate the BAD CONNECTION and fix it. This may only take a spray of some contact cleaner.

For power windows problem:--

If the windows don't work, any of several issues is likely to blame, including no electricity, bad switches, bad motor, damaged window regulator, or even a broken wire.

Automotive power windows use a switched motor to operate a mechanical window regulator. This regulator moves the pane of glass into the door.

To check and confirm the fault try this procedure:--

1) Open the fuse panel and check the fuses for disrupted elements. The fuse panel at the driver's side kick panel, or between the dashboard and the door. Also the fuses are mounted in the engine compartment, in front of the driver's side firewall. Check the fuses and replace if faulty.
2)
Test the wiring harnesses from the fuse panel to the switches and from the switches to the window regulator motor. If the circuits test fine, then proceed to the next step. If a wiring harness is shorted or damaged, it will need to be replaced.3) Remove and test the switches on the driver's side door panel. Pry them up with a screwdriver and pull them free of the panel's opening. Disconnect the switch assembly from the wiring harness by pulling the adapter plug from the assembly. Test the switches individually by touching both sides of one switch with the circuit tester. Each switch will have two terminals, and if the tester is positive on both terminals while the window is activated, then the switch is good. Replace the switch assembly if any of the switches fails the test. Most power window switches come in assembled modules and cannot be replaced individually.4) Remove and test (if possible) the power window motor. Turn the armrest bolts and interior door handle screws counterclockwise, then pull the door panel free from the pop rivets. Behind the panel are a window regulator, the window glass, and the electric driver motor. The motor is usually located in the lower right section of the door. Unplug the motor from the wiring harness and unbolt it from the window regulator by turning the bolts counterclockwise. Pull the motor straight out, away from the gears. And check out if motor is receiving exact 12 volts at the terminals. If not then either motor is faulty or there is a confirm short if motor is replaced.

5) If all the above mentioned possibilities are checked out ok then the window regulator needs to be checked. Inspect the window regulator's joints for rust or stiff movement, if the electrical system is operating correctly. These joints can corrode or break, causing the window to stop working. With the door panel off, the window regulator can be removed and replaced by sliding the glass away from the track mounts, then turning all mount bolts counterclockwise and manipulating the regulator out of the door.

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Begin by checking the fuses. Chances are this is where the problem lies. That said, if you find a blown fuse and replace it but it blows again you probably have a bad power window motor, usually the drivers' side motor is first to go. J.

Will a 1988 Toyota 4 runner transmission work in a 1994 4 runner?

A salvage yard could tell you through their interchange database.
I would think the '94 has electronic shift points, doubtful about the '88. Check with an interchanger.

remove the inner door pannel the screws securing it will be in the handel and hiden clips around the edge prise them away with a flat bladed screwdriver, once removed you will see the window glass that has come off its runners, undo the winding mech from its fixings and reposition the glass in its runners, you can lock the glass in the up position with a piece of thin wood or simillar if you cannot fix why it came off its runners,

Get a can of electrical cleaner or brake cleaner, and take your switches apart and clean them. 9 times out 10 that's all you need, especially a truck that old, they are bound to be dirty, and not making connection.
