Where is the crank position sensor on 06 pt cruiser

On the passenger side of the engine. Remove the air cleaner assembly, then the battery and battery tray, then reach down on the passenger side and unbolt the starter and swing the starter out of the way. You will see the crank position sensor right underneath where the starter was.

How do I remove cup holder 2010 Dodge Caravan?

Its very easy to remove just the holder. You don't need any tools.
  • Pull the cup holder out from the dash to its normal extended location.
  • Reach up in the hollow space above the holder with a finger or two. You will feel a plastic tab. That tab is the stop.
  • Pull tab down gently while you pull on tray with your other hand until the whole tray slips out.
  • I use to pull mine out regularly to clean it in warm soapy water.
  • Also helpful to get at cigarette power connector when clip breaks and it falls into the dash.

How do you replace a starter on a 1999 9-3 saab

Hi,
If you are sure that the problem is the starter, first thing you need to do is buy the starter. However a cheaper alternative that can work if you have access to another car, is to remove the current starter, bring it to a starter/alternator repair shop, and then reinstall the fixed starter. This usually costs ~$50-$100 versus $150-$250 for a new starter. Either way, here are the steps to replace the starter in your car. You selected a 1999 Saab 9-5 but then said it was a 9-3. Here are the steps for a 9-5, but it should be very similar for a 9-3 in case that is what you meant.
All the notes in () are bolt sizes
  1. Disconnect both positive and negative terminals of the battery (10mm), unbolt the battery from the tray and place the battery somewhere that is not cold and not on top of concrete. Batteries will discharge at a high rate of speed when left completely flat on a cold hard contact surface.
  2. After removing the battery and storing it, remove the plastic battery tray underneath (10mm), cleaning the tray is a good thing to do while you're here. Also, dismount the fused link piece that is mounted to the driver side battery tray and tuck it down to the driver's side without breaking anything.
  3. Find and undo the three bolts (10mm) that hold the fusebox (in between the battery and ABS controller) and pull the fusebox to the side to give yourself more room.
  4. Now, jack up the front of the car, making sure to block the rear wheels and with the parking brake engaged. If you have access to one, you can hang a drop light to increase the lighting. You should now be able to see two bolts that hold on the starter to the back of the bell housing. It usually is easier to access the lower bolt (16mm) from the bottom.
  5. Now from the top, look from the driver's side fender to look down and across to the bolt holding the top of the starter to the bell housing. The top bolt (18mm) is pretty long (40mm), it may be a bit difficult to reach. I personally used a gear wrench and inserted it from the firewall side, with my hand under the ABS controller, and underneath the wiring that feeds the CPS unit. This was a slow process, little turn by little turn to ge this long bolt out. This is the longest part out of all of this.
  6. Once you have that bolt out, you can now remove the connections to the starter. The lower stud in the bell housing is resting and supporting the weight of the starter. You can reach the wires from the top passenger side or from the bottom, your choice. It's usually easier from the top side, but you will most likely have to take out the starter from the bottom. There is a bolt (13mm) holding the positive terminal of the starter from the battery, and a bolt (10mm) that holds the trigger wire of the starter. If there are any wire ties, you can cut those.
  7. After the wires are disconnected, you will now gently wiggle the unit away from the bell housing and free it from the car, you may need a gentle tap from a rubber mallet to losen it out.
  8. Now you can take your starter to a repair shop and place the repaired one back in or put in the new one, both by reversing these steps
Hope this helps. If it does, please accept and rate the solution! You can leave a testimonial or contact me with any more questions you may have. Thanks for using FixYa!

How to remove starter from 1998 Honda Accord LX 4cyl?

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Caution: If you have an anti-theft radio, make sure you have the activation code before disconnecting the battery.

Remove the battery and battery tray from the engine compartment (remove the battery first, then remove the bolts for the battery tray and remove it.).

Remove the lower radiator hose and the wiring harness from the starter bracket. Make sure they are positioned out of the way.

Clearly label, then disconnect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor solenoid (the smaller cylinder attached to the starter). Disconnect any clips securing the wiring to the starter.

Remove the mounting bolts (two) and detach the starter (pull it gently out of its housing).

Reverse this procedure for installation.

Hope this is of help to you.

How do i remove the starter from buick regal 3.1

To get to the starter bolts, you need to remove the plastic covering that keeps rocks and dust from getting into the starter. I think there is only one bolt for that can't quite remember. Then there are two bolts for the starter. One is really long and kind of hard to reach. You'll need an extension for it. The other is kind of short, but not too hard to reach from the underside with the right tool. The new starter should hook up like a charm.

Be sure to disconnect the battery before attempting this though. And when you're done refill the AC before you use it or it might seize up and cost a lot to repair or get it professionally done for around $80.

Alternatively, If you do follow the generic repair manual, then you will need to figure out how to unbolt the engine and swing it up. Doing that will allow you to get enough room to remove the starter

Where is starter located on 2004 chrysler pacifica???

90e9c96.jpg
Look around the "back" of the engine beside the transmission. The Starter connects to the flywheel to start the engine.
If you are replacing the starter you may want to consider doing this first;
) Have the charging system checked. Many auto parts stores and Sears will do this for free.
) Clean the battery terminal/connectors.
) Check the wiring from the battery to make sure it's good.

If you replace the starter yourself;
) Does your car have an anti-thief alarm ? If so find how to reset it if the battery is disconnected. Some alarms will shut down the car if the battery is disconnected !!
) DISCONNECT THE BATTERY.
) Disconnct the wiring to the starter.
) Remove the bolts holding the starter. Remove the harder one to reach first.
) Pull out the old starter.
) Put it the new starter.
) Bolt the new starter in. Put the easier bolt to reach first.
) Connect the wiring to the new starter.
) Re-connect the battery.
) If necessary reset the thief alarm.
) Take the old starter back for a core charge refund.
