I can find the fuseboxes but cannot identify which fuse and/or relay controls the rear window defrost on my 04 trailblazer xlt

I know about the "Fog" relay spot and what it is for. No confusion there. I feel like you are responding to things I said in a conversation several months ago? not the current discussion.
Is that possible? Anyway, the dealer service manager says it's controlled behind the panel button, not in any fuse box. That also requires disabling the airbag for safety, I'll probably just let them do it. Cant find that fuse either. OY!! Thanks.

1.- Try the LGM #2 fuse - 30A in the rear. That's the defogger. It's in the shop manual under the "Stationary Window" section.

2.- What fuse specifically did you check that was a 10A labeled "rear def"? Sure it wasn't labeled "rear fog" for fog lights only available in a European RPO code?

3.- The parts store probably has an error in the data base and the relay is intended for the "rear fog" light function you don't have.

Other details could find in the 2004-Chevrolet-Trailblazer-Owners-Manual (page 396 and next).

Keep us updated.

The comment that you dealer says, could be thru, I suggtes check to see if it has come unplugged in the switch (control climate). There is also the possibility
that the connector got damaged, and there is a tear in the copper foil.

Also, could test voltage wires from climate control defoigger switch to the plug in the rear window.

Hi,

The fuse box is located under the dash on the driver's side behind the e-brake.

Which fuse box on the 2011 Chevy Malibu is the fuse for the rear defrost

Fuse box rear , fuse #23 30 amp ! Do you know where this is located ? There is also a relay for the Rear window defogger , located in the same rear fuse box .
Fuse Block - Rear
Left side of the luggage compartment, behind the left rear wheel well . But you really need to know how it works , you can check fuse an relay .
Rear Window Defogger Operation
Battery positive voltage is supplied through the BATT 1 fuse in the underhood fuse block to the rear defog relay switched input. When the rear defog switch button is pressed, the body control module (BCM) energizes the rear defog relay by providing a B+ to the control circuit of the rear defog relay. This allows battery positive voltage from the relay switched input through the switch contacts and out the relay switched output to the rear window defogger grid. The HVAC control module houses the rear defog switch and also illuminates the rear defog indicator on the switch button, upon this request. Ground for the rear window defogger grid is provided by G301 for the Sedan or G302 For the Extended Sedan.

Where is fuse for rear defroster located, i have a box with fuses inside drivers side of car with fuses and a seperate fuse beside that box of fuses

Most rear window defrosters are on a relay not fuse. If I remember right on Corollas it is marked relay (B) near the top above the actual fuses. This is from memory long time ago so I might be off on the marking and location but it usually is a relay.

Where is the rear defroster fuse

It's probably not a fuse, but a relay, also called "defogger relay", and it should be in the fusebox you are looking at, or else in the power distribution center by your battery.
Often the problem with the defroster is either the connector at rear window, or the little bands, or lines that carry current become scraped and lose continuity.

The rear defroster doesn't work on 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. How do you find out if it the fuse and where is the fuse located?

I believe your fusebox may be located either under the rear left seat or in the engine compartment. If your defroster is the electrical type embedded in the window glass, then you may find that the problem is with the connection between the glass and the vehicle body. Typically when you close the window there are a series of brass contacts leading to the embedded wires that seat on brass contacts from the body. These contacts can get dirty. Sometimes just rubbing them with a pencil eraser to clean them off is enough to get things going again.

What fuse do i need for the electric windows in a 2006 pontiac grand prix

It's not a Fuse you need, it's a 30 Amp Breaker type Relay. More or less it looks like a fuse where it plugs in, but looking at the fuse box, it's an aluminum looking thing the same length as your fuse and about 3/16" thick. It's main purpose is should the 30 Amps be exceeded, it will go open-circuit, until it cools down, then will work fine. On the back of your fuse door, look for your power windows "fuse/relay" and see if someone inadvertently placed a regular green 30 Amp fuse in it's place. This relay may also control things such as power seats, rear window defrosters and things of this order. If all else fails, just call a Dealerships Parts Department and they'll be glad to tell you whether you take a standard 30 Amp relay and the exact location of where it lives. (smile)

Hope this Helps,

~00 Buck~
