You will need the code to unlock the stereo.
You will probably need to have the radio removed from the dash in order to get the serial number off of it.... but maybe not...
I would call the dealership and ask them what you are required to do to get the code and dirrections on how to enter it...
If you try to enter a random code and it is wrong... your stereo system will lock up and you will have to go thru the ststem reset sequence ( Ignition in ACC for 60+ minutes and enter correct code)

How do I fix this?

When you fit the new battery you will have to reset the radio, the code should be in your manual somewhere, that then should have it work for you. It's when you remove a battery you will lose all memory that your radio had if it's not connected in a short time, unless you use a radio minder whilst changing the battery, hope this helps

Do i need to save any settings or codes before changing the battery in my chevy silverado?

just remember the negative wire comes off first and goes on last when changing a battery, you will have to reset your radio settings but other than that it should just start right up and run fine.

Power steering pump is not working and i need to replace it but sumone side i need to reset ecu how do i do that its 2001 1.4 peugeot 307

The ECU shouldn't have anything to do with changing your power steering pump. If you want to reset it and definitely need to change the pump, Kill two birds with one stone. Disconnect the battery while you change the power steering pump. When you're finished changing the pump, sufficient time will have elapsed so that when you reconnect the battery, the ECU will be reset. Just bear in mind that when you do this, any devices that use a memory (radio presets, clock, etc.) will need to be reset to your preferences.

Replaced battery - need to reset clock / radio won't play

My manual said the same thing. Although I have never had the radio stop working on me even after I changed the battery. To set the clock you hold the mode button, like your changing the bass/ treble. Hold it down then it will show clock flashing. From there I cant remember i think i used the arrows by the number pad to change the time. Hope this works for you.

How do I reset everything after changing the battery. It's asking me for a code for the CD player to work.

The radio code is unique to every radio and car, it was supplied with the owners manual packet when the car was sold.
