had the fusbile link replaced and my car still wont hold the battery charge. Having the wires running from the alternator to the battery replaced to see if that fixes the problem..any more suggestions?

Have you checked the voltage at the battery with the engine running? Why did you suspect the fusible link was bad? Are you sure you don't have a short somewhere? What is the condition of the battery and alternator? Sorry, but I'm trying to get up to speed on your issue.

THE ALTERNATOR HARNESS ON MY 98 INFINITI I30 HAS 2 GROUND WIRES BUT THE USED 99 MAXIMA ALTERNATOR I BOUGHT ONLY HAS ONE GROUND POST WILL THAT WORK AND CAN I HOOK BOTH GROUND WIRE UP TO THE 1 POST

The alternator connections for the alternator are: A BLK wire from the E terminal to ground; A BLK/RED wire from the fuse and fusible link box to the B terminal; a YEL/BLK wire from the fuse and fusible link box to the S terminal, and a WHT/RED wire from the instrument cluster to the L terminal.
The '99 Maxima alternator has the same connections.

How do I remove and replace an alternator on a 2008 Nissian Altima

Make a note of the radio code if coded and then disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE CODE AND IT IS A CODED RADIO, don't disconnect the battery and proceed with extreme caution removing the alternator cable without shorting to the engine! Locate the alternator, disconnect the cable, slacken the tension bracket and remove the fan belt. Remove the tension bracket bolt on the alternator and remove the bolts under the alternator.
To replace it reverse the procedure.

How to change alternator on 2008 nissian altima

For a V6 altima easiest way is to remove the radiator. Altenator is on the front of the engine at the bottom. With the radiator out of the way can fit it out. Ususal atuff for the altenator. Disconnect the battery. Loosen the belt to remove it. The unplug connector and the 12mm bolt for the output. Then unbolt altenator to remove. Will not be able to fit it out without removing radiator

I have a 98 dodge neon just replaced the alternator guy at parts store told me i need to replace the universal fusible link also...where is it located? i cant find it

The main line between the alternator and battery has a fuseable link in the cable to protect the circuit from overload just like a fuse. Some where in the cable is a thick section that comprises the link. Its usually near the battery end of the cable.
If you replaced the alternator and it is not charging the battery, you would check the cable by testing for battery voltage at the alternator post with the key switch off.

Your alternator could be bad,Autozone will test for free,if you can't drive there to have tested on vehicle, you will have to remove and take up there, also take battery, you have a fusible link in line on the positive side of battery, make sure it's not burnt. Here's a link on how to remove your alternator.
