Question about 2004 Kia Sedona

1 Answer

I have an 03 Kia Sedona 2.4 auto. The battery was flat but is being charged by a mechanic. For some reason the imobiliser alarm keeps going off and we can't disarm it using the key fob, any ideas? The car is starting no problem!

The errratic fault of the unit and the draining of the battery requires that this unit be replaced if the main unit cannot be repaired by the dealer. You can alos have a power switch in place so that it can be deactivated when ever required.
Since this wont reset the unit motherboard has errors and so in the long run it will only cause issues with such erractic switching.

Wiring diagram

I would have the battery tested. The security alarm normally draws power when the car is not running. If the battery is not fully charged or will not fully charge, the onboard computer and the security system may drain enough power to make a bad battery go dead.
You could check the wires at the fuse block to see if more than one wire is attached to the output side. Most connections are made in the wiring harness and would be difficult to find. Are there any hidden light bulbs that could stay on? Do all the systems on that fuse work properly?

I have a 2005 Kia Spectra( Manual) and it has been an excellent vehicle ( except it goes through clutches eery 2 years) and recently the car alarm started to go off for no reason. How do I fix this so my...

May have a faulty motion sensor, try reprogramming the alarm. also a week battery will turn the alarm on when the charge drops and goes back up, take it to an Auto Zone or Kragin type auto parts store for a free charging system check. Your clutch problem may be due to after market parts (just not the same) but I would check that the fly wheel is not turned past the specs, may have to replace with next clutch job. also remember to keep your foot off the peddle when driving, the slightest pressure will drag the clutch.

Battery keeps going flat after 10 mins driving

I would suspect that the problem is with the charging system not charging the battery, as opposed to the battery being bad.

Problem with ford explorer alarm imobiliser

You should have a switch under the dash and then just turn it to the off position. If you don't or it doesn't work (like mine) then, there is 2 fuses under the dash, put the key in the ignition and turn it forward, pull one of the fuses out and then start the car that should reset it. Then you should be able to put the fuse back. Sometimes if you put the fuse back before starting it the alarm will just continue to try and reset itself, but not start the car. If that doesn't work I have a mechanic who can pull the whole alarm out and when hes done it would look like nothing has ever been installed. Hes very good. I ended having him take my alarm out when I had the same incident happen after the 2nd time.
