Question about 1994 Ford F250 Supercab

1994 powerstroke diesel wont start

I had an accident in my f250 powerstroke diesel. Grill, hood, right fender had to be replaced. Radiator and waterpump were replaced also. Truck was running after accident, and i shut it off. After repairs, i cant get truck to start. There is no white smoke. I have replaced ecm, starter relay and engine selenoid. Wait to start light on dash light does not illuminate. Engine cranks over. Filter is full of fuel. I have checked and rechecked for broken wires. Also fuseable links and fuses have been checked. I am at wits end. Help!!!

No wait to start light is a good indication that you need to check you glowplug relay and harness. Make sure you have 12V in and out of the relay. Also if you can check to see if you have good continuity to ground through your glow plugs. This is kind of hard to do on this engine, sometimes it is OK just to check the AMP draw for the leff and right group of wires. Do this by putting an AMP clamp around all 4 wires to the left and right bank. Wait about 45 sec. for the relay to click off (if it clicked on) and then record the amps right before the relay turns off. Let me know what the amp draw is and I can check it against the spec sheet. Se you amp clamp above 100 amps, it might start around 60A and end up around 36A if I remember correctly.

which diesel eng does the truck have? If its the powerstroke it is located on the firewall, if it is the non-powerstroke(IDI) engine it does not have one as the fuel pump is mechanical.

Is it possible that there was a body ground wire that didn't get hooked up , or got bolted to a spot on the new fender that was covered with paint causing no ground ? Just a thought.

I have a 2001 ford f250 powerstroke diesel was driving and transmision started to slip drove about 3 miles and now wont move forward at all but reverse works fine

Some of the Ford transmissions actually have an aluminum gear which will go out somewhere around 150 to 200 thousand miles. OR it could be really low on transmission fluid.

My F250 will not start when it is cold out

Gasoline engines work with a spark plug, where an electrode ignites the fuel mixture. Diesel engines operate on the principle of heat and pressure. Compression ratios are very high in diesel engines and when the air is compressed into a very confined space it heats rapidly, then the fuel is injected and combusts. Most diesel engines have a "wait to start" light when you first turn the ignition to on. If the temp is below normal, I might would allow for a few extra seconds for the glow plugs to heat up. The block heater will help though, b/c it raises the temp on the engine and allows for it to build the heat neccesary for combustion.
