There is a wire that comes from the dash lights and lights up the radio at night. You probably hooked that wire up wrong, causing the fuse to keep blowing and now maybe the dash lights are toast from repeatedly being shorted.

I have 2002 gmc envoy and im trying to hook up cd dvd and red to red and yellow to yellow dont work but does work when they both touch but non of dash light does not go out

GMC products are famous for this problem, it's a built-in feature to keep fuses from blowing. The red wire must be connected to a totally seperate and fused wire. Might try running a wire from an empty fuse slot in the dash panel and make sure you put an in-line fuse link. They are fairly cheap and will save you huge costs or danger to yourself. Run the yellow wire to the yellow as normal.

Fuse keeps blowing to my dash guages in my 95 gmc sierra why?

have you recently installed a new radio ? I have knowen people to install radiosincorectly the dim wire behind the radio shows as a earth. however when you turn headlights on this becomes a positive. if you have wired this wire to your sterio this is whyyour dash lights & internal cab light etc keep blowing.. if your wondering why sterio still works is because its earthed through the aerial or mounting bolts.

I put brand new 50 amp fuses in and everyone I've put in keeps blowing also the tail light doesn't work either on the driverside

FIRST of all you check all the items on the fuse that blows then remove all the fuses or wires to that item,i dident think the tail lights were 50 amp but still remove the plug from the rear lights and trace them to wards the front ,it sounds like a wire harness is trapped and shorten out about where the door shuts .where the tail gate closes.something under the floor .or under the body on chassis, but when you check all that works like nothing on the left of cab then thats where you start looking .or a wire hanging on the side of the engine ,but dont put in any more fuses untill you have checked out all possible wires either trapped or not .
Keep looking and you will find it AND only use the amp fuses the book says nothing bigger as a dead short wont only blow it can cause a FIRE.
lET ME KNOW HOW YOU GET ON it will take you a few hrs ....goodluck.

All the lights work except the dash lights. The 5 amp fuses keep blowing and if I put a 15 amp it doesnt blow but no dash lights

DASH HAS A SHORT CIRCUIT.DASH NEED REPLACING BUT CHECK FOR SHORTS IN THE WIRES TO DASH.DONT PUT A LARGER AMP FUSE IN A CIRCUIT TO KEEP FROM BLOWING FUSE BECAUSE IF FUSE DONT BLOW WIRES GET HOT IN THE CIRCUIT THAT HAS A SHORT IN IT AND CAUSE A CAR FIRE.

Dash lights or gages on jeep grand cherokee wont work

the wires could be chewed off by mice or there could be a bad connection, also try checking the fuse to see if it is blown and if it keeps blowing then put a higher amp fuse in it.

Dash vents will not blow air

It may be the mode actuator. Have you heard any clicking or other strange noise ? Under the drivers rear seat, in a plastic box is a fuse panel. Remove the two retainers, and the cover. Remove the HVAC or A/C fuse for a minute or two. Reinstall the fuse and this will make the A/C system relearn. Whwn you put the fuses back do not touch the A/C controls. Start the truck and leave it run for two or three minutes. Then try to change the vent from floor to vent and defrost. If this does not work you will need a mode motor. Good Luck

10amp fuse keeps popping

check each of the terminals of those bulb you mentioned. wonder if there's a relay associated to this circuit, check for short if this is the case. remove all the light bulbs [of course - the dash may not be necessary (it's a PITA) & let's hope that it's not the culprit]. visually inspect those bulbs & replace if something unusual. put back the relay if it has no short, turn on the switch, let's hope the dash lights up & it won't blow the fuse anymore, otherwise look for uninsulated wire touching the chasssis or ay metal part of the car. you may continue replacin the bulbs.
