Lots of possibilities: Fuel pump or bad wiring to the fuel pump. CKP sensor or wiring to CKP sensor. Ignition module. Check for fuel and spark. These are basic no-start chevy truck checks.

2005 chevy silverado gas gauge says empty but just filled tank what do i do

the sending units in these have problems. Sometimes you can add Chevron Techron fuel injection cleaner and it will clean the contact board in the fuel level sensor. Maybe add some for 3 fill ups. If that does not work, then I recommend replacing the Fuel Pump Module. The Fuel level sensor is available as a separate part, but if the truck has over 100K miles, then replace the module.

2000 Silverado fuel gauge shows empty at fill up. At 3/4 or less it will sometimes indicate correctly then fall to empty causing the "low fuel" indicator to display.

Bad fuel level sensor. Depending on miles go ahead and replce fuel pump its got to come out anyway to replace level sensor.

Fuel Sending unit on a 2000 Chevy Silverado

if it is the fuel level sending unit you will have to replace the pump because they are a 1 piece assambly. it will be a task to change too as you will need to either remove the truck bed or drop the fuel tank to get to it.
