Code P0761-
Possible causes - Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid 3 valve
- Shift solenoid 3 valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid 3 valve circuit is open or shorted
P0761 FORD Description Shift solenoid valve 3 is turned ON or OFF by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch, vehicle speed and Engine Control Module (ECM) (throttle opening). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position. When is the code detected? The P0761 code is detected when the ECM has detected a mechanical fault with the solenoid energized, valve stuck off code O1744- is not a code these are the ones I have found that come close

You mean P01744 Torque Converter Clutch System Mechanically Stuck in Off Position. This most likely means there is a problem with the oil pump or pump shaft and possible torque converter damage. You can replace just the valve body or oil pump parts and converter but It would be safer to the the entire transaxle.

cleanout egr valve and troutle body . Or replace egr with new one, clean, check vacumm lines , check for clogged check , depending on modle of car you can pippoint problem as some have a common part problem depeding with make of car. But all have to do with exaust system. Insufficient flow exaust flow. Im not an expert, all I know it is related to this, I have it myself so im googling it.

Ford EGR valve

The OBDII fault code P0401 means that the engine computer has detected that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system flow is insufficient. Read more how the EGR system works below. What could cause the code P0401 - clogged or restricted EGR passages
- faulty EGR valve
- EGR valve stuck closed
- problems with the DPFE sensor (Ford)
- problems with hoses to the DPFE sensor (Ford)
- problem with the EGR vacuum switching valve (Toyota)

What does it mean when the obdll machine won't even come on to read the code on a 2003 trailblazer?

I know you say all fuses check fine, but check fuse #13 in the underhood fuse panel. This is for the cigarette lighter which also powers the OBDII socket.
Since your engine will not go above 3000 RPM, this indicates that the computer is in "limp home" mode and there is a serious condition going on. You need to get the OBDII to function to read the trouble codes for diagnosis.

My 96 Ford Explorer is up for it's registration well we thought that it was going to pass because we really haven't had problems with but the engine check light did come on so I figured that maybe it was...

code 402, I would replace DPFE sensor .
code 761- is transmission shift solenoid related, and may be as simple as replacing a clip/retainer in that part of the transmission, unfortunately basically one side of transmission needs to be disassembled to do so. With that said, I'd have an estimate done at 2 or 3 places including a ford dealer, as it may be related to a technical service bulletin that the dealer should have on record, or could be something as simple as a bad connection at one of the wiring connectors. personally I'd fix problem for code 402, then have them erase all codes & see if it comes back. I suspect for code 761, you would feel some shifting problems at least occasionally for that code. If it doesn't come back, I wouldn't worry about it, except maybe a fluid & filter change if not done recently.

P0450 trouble code

Your vehicle has whats called a OBDII diagnostics setup. Just google "2001 Toyota Tacoma, OBDII trouble codes". You should get a whole page full of responses. (Type in exactly what is in exclamation marks above) Once you have codes, scroll down to PO450. Remember, whatever sensor/circuit it refers to, means there is a problem with the circuit, the sensor, ie..wiring, bad connector, bad ground, short, open, and so on. Dont just change out part without first examining the wiring and connectors first. Common sense goes a long way with this sort of troubleshooting.
