worse ase secenerio what am I looking at, and does this have anything to do with how the engine was installed. I am still paying on a 4000.00 engine and will not be able to afford another 2-4 thousand dollar repair bill on this car.

They probably mean a compression test and leakdown test to see if any cylinders are low on compression or if there is any leakage past the rings or if the valves are not seating properly. The test may also show up that there is a problem with the head gasket not sealing properly.

It could be that the fault can be attributed to the assembly and installation of the engine. What sort of warranty was given when the replacement engine was installed ? If ir was a complete rebuild, the least I would expect is 12 Months or 12,000 Miles. Once they work out the reason for the misfiring, provided that the engine problems have not been caused by any neglect on your part, I would strongly suggest that it should be fixed under warranty. You may need the assistance of a consumer affairs advocate if things become difficult. Please advise how you get on

2004 Grand Jeep Cheorkee: Check Engine Light code conflict

You need to inspect those parts. The two codes, in a way are related. But they happened in different seasons. These newer cars are picky about what is going on and the signals it receives. A scan-tool is needed to see or collect active data from that O2 sensor and see if it is bad.
If the thermostat is bad then replace it but I can't tell you if you need an O2 sensor. You can tell the service rep. about what you found, it cant hurt.

2008 Jeep Compass won't start. Lights are bright and radio works; battery jump didn't help. Remote key fob worked last night, but doesn't work this morning.

I had same prob with Grand Cherokee - no rhyme nor reason as to when, where or why it wouldn't start. After two new starters the shop finally found a starter wire/cable that was corroded on the inside. Mech' could move it back and forth and it would / would not start. Changed cable six months ago - no problems since. Hope it helps.

Piece of **** Jeep

Brakes are products that wear with time. Not avoidable.
Window motors or any other electrical item could stop working from the first day of replacement.
I don't remember any thermostat code working at the dealer.
I have been a Jeep person for 20 years. I love them.

1999 jeep grand cherokee brake lights

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I purchased only three months ago. It has already been in the shop three times in a month so I fee like I can help you with your problem. My rear brake light did the same thing and I just had to purchase the whole light socket. It only cost $13.00 from Jeep. I know your jeep is a 99' but the mechanic said that all Grand Cherokees from the last six years or so had the same problem. Changing the light bulb won't work. It will simply burn your bulb out. Simply buy the plastic socket that the bulb snaps in and that should fix your problem. It did for me.
