Question about 2006 Ford F-150

My power points and my OBD-II port do not produce any power at all. What would my problem be and where do I start?

I would start with a complete set of wiring diagrams, of the entire vehicle. (Helm.Com)
Then you could work your way back from the ports, to the nearest fuse or other system issues.

I would first check for error codes using an OBD-II scanner tool- then research the Diagnostic Troubleshoot Code(s) to point you in the direction of the problem. Most common error is when DIYers read the scanner tool and automatically assume scanner codes pulled will pinpoint the exact problem. Scanner tools vary in scope. The bottom line, use the tool as a starting reference point, but you will have to test the component to make sure it is the one that is malfunctioning. Where is the OBD port located in a toyota hiace 1998 with 1KZ engine and is it a OBD II?

It is OBD II all cars world-wide were required to be OBD II by the 1997 model year. The port should be located under the dash on the drivers side of the car. It looks like a serial port on the back of a home computer.

1996 is the first year that OBD II was mandated. Some cars will have the OBD II port but not be OBD II compliant. Does it have the 12 pin port or the 16 pin port?

Does the code reader power up? If not, check the fuses. OBD II ports supply power to the code reader. Typically GM uses the cigarette lighter fuse to power the OBD II port on their vehicles (could share a fuse with somthing else, but I doubt it). Good luck!
