Had it happen to my car too. went to advanced autoparts and got a new master cylinder for the clutch ( not brake) and installed it as well as a new clutch kit since i was in there. as a short term, i bleed my clutch to get it home and that provided about 2 or 3 shifts before it lost pressure again. if you can't rev match or are uncomfortable with it have it towed to someplace to do the work or ur house and you can do it

2004 CHEVY CAVALIER WONT GO INTO DRIVE BUT STILL DOES REVERSE

Internal problems. Reverse uses more pressure to apply the clutches than forward clutches do.
Could be planetary gears, sprag, burned clutches, broken sealing rings or lip seals.
All these are internal so it will need to come apart

Vacuum cleaner noise is a classic symptom of a plugged catalytic converter. Get to a muffler shop and make some choices based on what they tell you. Stay away from chain stores, use a local guy.

That sounds like a faulty brake light switch located down on the brake pedal lever under the dash, or a damaged wire at the wire connector to the brake light switch. Here are some images of what the brake light switch looks like to help assist you.

The clutch slave cylinder is leaking. It's not a DIY job. The transmission has to be removed to get to it.

Replaced clutch but pedal will not move down at all now on 98 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd

Sounds like the release bearing is in backwards! No check valve. If the peddle was pushed, it would pop the slave cylinder piston. 2/ The clutch disc could be in backwards too! Either way, you will need to pull the tranny! Sorry! Frankster016

2000 cavalier clutch pedle goes to floor when pushed and stays there, clutch not working no pressure

You are going to have to replace the master and slave cylinders for the hydraulic clutch, the seals have failed in the slave, but from past experience they should always been replaced as a pair.
