Follow top radiator hose to motor. Thermostat is under housing that rad hose is clamped to. Drain antifreeze from rad after it has cooled down. There should be a drain **** on rad bottom. Using proper size socjket and ratchet, take out the bolts holdng housing then remove thermostat. Put new thermostat in same way as old one, put on a new gasket and replace housing. Be careful not to overtighten housing bolts. Refill with new antifreeze.

This vehicle has a double overhead cam engine. The water pump is driven off the timing chain. Unless you have had experience doing internal engine repairs, this is not a DIYer job. There is great risk of doing more damage than good if any step(s) of the repair procedure are not done correctly.

Where is the alternator located in dodge intrepid 2001? How do I replace the alternator?

its located towards the right side of the engine. It has a pulley on it. Google a picture of an 'alternator' and itll be easy to point out in the engine bay.

I was doing the heads on a 2001 dodge intrepid. after the heads were off the crank shaft was turn by accident. how do i get the engine back to the right spot without messing anything up?

line the 2 dots up on the crank gear and cam gear.

2000 dodge intrepid 3.2 ltr v6 won't start.... turns over. It has a new alternator, new fuel pump & new plugs. Spark is coming from #2 coil & had each coil tested. Yet wires are not sending sparks...

2001 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 liter DOHC V-6 VIN "R"
or
2001 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 liter DOHC V-6 VIN "U"
or
2001 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 liter DOHC V-6 VIN "V"
or
2001 Dodge Intrepid 3.2 liter SOHC V-6 VIN "J"

YOU NEED A REPAIR MANUAL BECAUSE YOU HAVE 3..2 L- 3.5L -2.7L ENGINE.YOU HAVE 3 DIFFERENT ENGINES.
