This is caused by a defective ignition start switch, this is the electrical switch that powers up the electrical system when u turn the key, replace that switch. The switch is on the back side of the ignition key cylinder, see picture below, cost is about $20.00 for the switch, easy to replace, just take the plastic covers off the steering column

Need some more info: Do the gauges come to life when you turn the key to the "Run" position ? If not you may have a bad ignition switch. If they do come to life then quit once you try to start the engine it is possible that the switch is not returning to the "Run" position once you release it after starting the engine. I would start with checking the switch.

Runs while key is being held on. as soon as you release key to driving derections. jeep stop runing. can any one help me.

I don't quite understand what you mean by be held on. Normally you "hold on" to the key to start it and let it go back to the on position. If you have to hold the key on (start position) then you can might not be starting. The starter is turning the engine, but the engine not running? What happens when you give it gas?

Quit messing around with a failed system. Just bypass it. Its cheaper too. And you never have to worry about it again. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

My antitheft light is blinking and my car wont start. What should I do?

The relearn procedure is simple, but takes a little time. 1. Try to start the car. When the car doesn't start, release the key and leave it in the run position until the security light quits flashing (usually between 10 and 15 mins.). When the light stops flashing and goes out, turn the key to the off/lock position for 3 seconds, then the car should start.

Truck started and is running, but the key is locked in ignition

unplug the electrical connector to the igntion coil will make the car to quit running.
I think it's a mechanical problem with the ignition lock cylinder. it's required to remove the steering wheel to get to the igntion lock cylinder.
at least get the car to quit running so you can try to get the key to turn by keep on turning the key and move the shifter and tap the brake at the same time. hope it will get loose some how. good luck

Starts, then quits after 2 or 3 seconds

If the engine keeps running when the starter is kept engage, it is an ignition switch problem but in this case it looks to me as an ECM problem.

Starts but quits

If the engine starts and then quits when you release the key to the ON position it could be the anti-theft systemhas locked out. Turn your key to the ON position and wait ten minutes until the ANTI-THEFT light on the dash board goes out. The car will now start and run if that was the problem.

HI;
YOU CAN RE-CALIBRATE THE CLUSTER BY HOLDING DOWN THE TRIP SET BUTTON WITH THE KEY OFF THEN TURN THE KEY ON AND RELEASE THE TRIP BUTTON. THIS WILL PUT THE CLUSTER IN SELF DIAGNOSTIC MODE AND SHOULD CLEAR UP YOUR PROBLEM. MAKE SURE TO LET IT RUN TO COMPLETION BEFORE TURNING THE KEY OFF OR TO START THAT WILL ABORT THE TEST
