Question about 2005 Mazda Tribute

Have 2005 tribute it quit on me . ck fuel pump and filter. now it cranks but appears to be running on about 2 cylinders. Placed code reader on it and have 4 codes P0351 ignition coil A Primary / Secondary Circuit P0352 ingnition Coil B Primary / Secondary Circuit Malfunction P0354 ignition Coil D """""""""""""""same""""""""""""""""""""""""""" P0355 ignition Coil E """"""""""""""same"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Code check gives 3 things to do 1__ replace PCM 2__ Replace spark plugs 3__Replace #4 Ignition Coil I find it hard to believe all 4 coils went out at once any good ideals

    Had to leave the car at my daughters 90 miles away will be going to work on it saturday. if a fuse is blown on the coil circuit will it still let it crank and run on 2 cylinders? just trying to figure out what tools and materials I need to carry with me

    are you saying its not a fuse and how would I test the wiring harness



    If the PCM must be replaced is this something I can do? or is this something a shop must do.

    is this a seperate scan than the one listed above and if it is can i scan with my reader or is this a repair shop only function



    when a scan code refers to coil a is this the coil on cylinder 1 ?

    THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO HOOK UP THEIR DIAGNOSTIC SCANNER IT CAN DO MORE TROUBLE SHOOTING. THEY CAN CHECK PCM FUNCTION AND ALL IT CONTROLS. LIKE ME AND YOU I HAVE CODE SCANNERS.THEY WILL RETRIEVE CODES AND ERASE THEM.THATS ALL.I WOULD REPLACE SPARK PLUGS FIRST.BUT IF TOO MANY THINGS GO OUT AT ONE TIME.LOOSE GROUND WIRE TO COILS OR PCM IS GONE.I WOULD CHECK WIRES AND GROUND.LIKE I SAID DEALERSHIP SCANNER WILL PIN POINT.BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY BUYING NEW PARTS THAT YOU CANT TAKE BACK AFTER YOU USE THEM.

U have a defective wiring harness or a blown fuse for the coil circuit, check all fuses replated to the electronics for the engine in both the fuse boxes

Trying to find out where the crankshaft sensor is located on Mazda Tribute 2002? Need to change it


2004 Mazda tribute 2.0l manual transmission cranks position sensor tip worn / rubbing. p0351, p0352, p0500, p0320 codes. I have a 2004 Mazda tribute with 2.0l 4 cylinder. 140,000 miles. First problem was it would not start but I could hear the fuel pump run and the engine cranked over. I checked for spark and all four plugs had no spark. p0351, p0352, p0500, and p0320 codes displayed.
I have 12 volts at coil. I decided to remove and inspect crank sensor on the transmission side of the engine ( on engine below thermostat housing bolted to engine block) once i removed it i noticed the tip of the sensor was broken, yes, broken. so I knew i found the problem.
I put a new crank sensor in and the car started but ran for 1 hour idling as if a cylinder was not firing. Then it would not start ever again. I removed my brand new replacement sensor to find the tip was rubbed off enough to see the inside metal. i think it could be a possible warped flywheel but I am having trouble finding diagrams of the excitation part of how the crank position sensor works.
I believe the flywheel has holes that excite the sensor. The tribute does move and clutch works for the hour I had it running, so the manual Trans does work as well as the clutch.

Does yours have a theft deterrent system ? SECURITY light on dash ! Before replacing parts you suppose to test for spark at a spark plug wire . check for fuel pressure . You really should take this to someone who knows what he is doing . You already spent more then it would have cost at the dealer !
The Engine Cranks but Does Not Run diagnostic table is an organized approach to identifying a condition that causes an engine not to start. The Engine Cranks but Does Not Run diagnostic table directs the service technician to the appropriate system diagnosis. In order for the engine to start and run, the correct amount of good quality fuel must be properly delivered to each cylinder. The timing of the valve train operation in relation to piston position is also critical, as is mechanical compression of the air/fuel mixture.
The Engine Cranks but Does Not Run diagnostic table assumes the following:

The battery is completely charged. Refer to Battery Inspection/Test in Engine Electrical.

When you turn the key to the on position does the check engine light come on an go off after a few seconds ? Did you check EFI relay in the under hood fuse / relay box . Why are you unable to check for OBD 2 codes ? Don't you have a code reader ?

My 2005 dodge caravan won't stay running already replaced fuel pump and starter. It will start and then stall it hard to get started


Check fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, quality of spark at all cylinders, and readout of stored codes in the ECU.

try first fuel pressure ck then go to the crank sensor how many km,s does it have ,could have bad fuel change the filter then do the test ther is crank fuse too to ck also ck the coil packs for spark get back too me if ya wood thks again for your time The Farmer

No Injector Pulse


run fault codes as there is a problem sensor in the system. volts at the injector is suspect as the voltage will vary with the fuel requirement.

96 T100 (3.4), will only run for 2-3 seconds then quit, change fuel filter, pump, cam sensor and crank sensor still won't run, but will run on ether. Where to go next?


What you are telling me is the engine is firing the plugs but not getting fuel.
When you changed the fuel pump and filter, did you check the fuel pressure at the rail ?
Are the injectors getting power and ground pulse ??

Hi i have a 1996 chevy astro van wont start


chk in line fuel filter for obstruction, also could be a lot of sediment in the tank clogging up the filter. Hope this helps you resolve your problem.

If you give it gas and it starts it is the control valve. Misfire # 6 probably coil pack

93 chev s10 blazer, no fire to fuel pump, changed the two relays.


check the fuses called 'ECM 1&2 or A&B'. one of them blown can cause no fuel/no spark both.
