2002jeep wrangler code po303, 161 and 300. had tune up, just changed spark plugs again still getting codes

It basically means the PCM detected either an excessive current draw, or an open or short in the circuit powering the oxygen sensor's heater circuit. This is in reference to the Heated Oxygen Sensor (2) located rear of catalytic converter (Bank 2). Symptoms There will likely be no obvious symptoms other than MIL illumination. Causes A code P0161 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: HO2S heater power circuit open HO2S heater ground circuit open HO2S signal tracking (due to oil or moisture in the connector) HO2S is damaged or has failed PCM has failed Possible Solutions Replace HO2 Sensor Repair open or short in power circuit Repair open or short in ground circuit Repair damaged connector due to tracking

As for the 0303 or the 0300 these are probably just side effects of the 0161 fault But the 0303 code means the Cylinder #3 misfired and the 0300 means that you have a bunch of random misfires going on.Make sure you go back over the engine and check all the wiring, you may have disconnected or busted a wire while changing plugs.

It stumbles severly on take of and at each gear shift! hooked up code reader and keeps showing a code of 0303 and now its also started showing 0404 which is misfire on cylinder 3 (0303) and on cyl 4...

Probably is just time for a tuneup, unless one was recently performed, then in that case you may have gotten those 2 plug wires crossed. Another possibility is a blown headgasket which I've seen is fairly common on escorts. You may want to check for any broken, cracked, or vacuum line that has come off.

Ihave a check engine light problem..i`ve changed the plugs wires-coil pack.nothing helps it`s gotten worse the car will start to backfire and stall...any suggestions?????don

Did you go to Auto Zone or another shop and have the fault codes read withe the code reader? This sounds like your ECM has switched to Limp mode which is designed for limited use to get you to a chop for repair. Most likely it is a Faulty O2 Sensor but the Fault codes will tell you for sure in most cases.

95 maxima hard to start

Remove the high tension cable to the distributor from the ignition unit. Conduct a spark test. If there's no spark, try to replace the ignition coil or the igniter.

I use nissan sentra 2002 my service engine soon is on for 2weeks

Finding out what the code number is, is the first step.

You can find this easily by watching the blinking yellow check engine light and counting the number of flashes for each of the numbers in the 4 digit fault code.

To do this without a code reader; sit in the car and turn the ignition on (do not start the car) and after 3 seconds push the accelerator pedal all the way down to the floor and release fully (pull your floor mat out from under the gas pedal). After the 3 seconds, do this 5 times quickly, in less than 5 seconds. Then hold the accelerator pedal down for exactly 7 seconds and release it fully. Then within 10 seconds, the yellow check engine light will begin to blink.

The numbers of blinks will go from 1 to 10. A 10 will represent a "0".

For example; 0303 would be 1st number is 10 flashes, short pause then 3 flashes, short pause then 10 flashes, short pause and 3 flashes. It will repeat this again if there is only one fault code. There could be other fault codes and you would count those in the same way.

The 0303 code means that you have a cylinder misfire in the #3 cylinder. This could be a fouled plug, poor connection between the plug and the coil or something else.

To erase the code hold the gas pedal down while the yellow light is blinking for about 15 seconds then turn off the ingnition. Code will now be reset and light will go out.

If for some reason you do not get the yellow light to start blinking, tturn off the ignition and try it again. You may wish to get a watch with a second hand as the time is critical as to the seconds between steps.

After you find out what codes you have, send back an email and we can document the actual codes and the problems you are having.
