Question about 2008 Ford F-350

1 Answer

2008 F-350 diesel 6.4 no power to starter. Dealer says code reads' stuck on start' Then said too many accesories(I have none) then said pins corroded, checked and they weren't. Now it starts fine but this happens randomly. My old fashioned idea was a starter relay but the ford shop says no.Any ideas out there about what this might be? Ford can't seem to find the solution, maybe some good old fashioned experience might help. Thanks. Graham.

Check your connections to the starter, mine did the same and it was a loose nut holding the wire wich made it short out

You should never use starter fluid when the glow plugs are hooked up. It can cause severe engine damage. You probably need to replace all the glow plugs and the glow plug controller.

Why wont heat blow out of car with the automatic starter

Heater and radio are supply power by the "Accesories position"
If you know about electronic and wiring.
Q: Does the automatic starter has 12 volts power source Only after the car start...?
A:Yes. You can hook up a wire from it to the accesories. You should be good to go.
Or you can hook up straight from the alternater out put to accesorie position.

Good luck.

I have a 2002 Trailblazer. This has happened 3 times in about 6 months. Usually it works fine, but sometimes I turn the ignition key and all accesories come on, but nothing on the engine. Eventually...

you could have a dead spot in your starter. The next time this happens, have someone turn the key and tap on the starter with a stick or a wrench -- this can sometimes jolt the starter out of the dead spot and get you started. If this works, get your starter replaced and you should not have any more problems. If you can, take it to a mechanic before it happens again and see if they come up with the same diagnosis. If the mechanic finds it is the starter, get it replaced ASAP so you don't get stuck somewhere.

When i plug a computer into my diagnostic port it will not read..

on the diesels you need the bigger diagnostic tool like snapon or dealer. they are pinned diferently and a generic obd2 reader wont even receive power.

Hello! There isn't power to ECM pins 109 and 111 because the ECM relay is not pulling...Pins 1 and 3 (White/Black wire) are tied together in the harness and should not show a change in symptom if jumped together...Also, Pins 1 and 3 are fed battery from fuse # 36 (15A hot at all times) and both pins must read +12 volts...Pin 2 of the relay coil is the pulling ground from the ECM...Reading across pins 1 and 2 with the key in the ON position should not read +12 volts...If it does the relay coil is open...With the key on the relay would show a voltage drop across the coil...Check pins 1 and 3...must be tied together and have +12 volts from fuse # 36 (15A hot at all times)...Replace ECM relay...See photo...............Guru....Saailer...

Renault kangoo 1.9 deisel smoking bad diesel knocking/ pinking runs better in mornings when colder its starting ok

classic symptoms of petrol in diesel ,but with these engines their is no keyway on the timing belt sprockets and its not unusual for the sprocket to move if a new timing belt has been fitted ,Now their is a special tool for alignment of the crank to tdc ,on the front of the engine level with the crank right hand side about 2 inches from the bell housing is a bolt ,this comes out and a special tool is inserted to locate TDC its like a long pin ,then crank is locked into this position with another special tool that locks the starter ring gear .and the cams are locked with another special tool .also its a common rail and to locate a injection fault then this vehicle uses encrypted software that can only be read by the dealer over an internet connection with renault thats well secure as it calls back the dealer to confirm caller ID then the operator has to put his finger print into the computer to open the connection.Check the fuel first and see if it smells of petrol ??
