THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE FREON IN THE A/C SYSTEM. YOU MIGHT HAVE A LEAK.

Rear heating problem

Hi Jeff. I had the same problem, along with others on my 03 Denali. Along with not blowing hot air from the rear heating system, I had hot air blowing out of the passenger side and cold air out of the drivers' side vents. My battery would go low and had the same smell. I took my Denali in to the dealer and they found it was a bad Fan Control Module. They replace it and everything worked well after. It cost me $293 for parts and labor. Hope this helps.

My 2003 Denali blows cold air in the front but the rear only gets room temp air. It doesnt get cold or hot just regular outside air . Please help. Is there a sensor or relay that needs to be replaced?

There is a blend door that blends the hot air from the heater core and the cold air from the A/C evaporator to make the air dry and just the perfect temperature. I am going to bet its the blend door. the Rear trim will need to be taken off and then you can see what is going on. I don't have any pic of the box but its not that complicated.

OMGosh...denali blows out hot air on driver side vents

You can do on of two things to see if it will reset the hvac system. Remove the negative battery cable wait two minutes then reconnect. This may reset the hvac. If not you can turn your switch on, but don't start it. Pull the shift lever down to 1st gear tilt the steering wheel all the way down. Now start pulling toward you with the trim on the dash to remove the trim. When it is removed, you can remove the Hvac controller. Once you remove it disonnect the wires wait two minutes and reinstall. This should get you cooling.
