Question about Chevrolet 1500

Open Question

My 1997 Chevy k1500 makes a clicking sound when i accelerate (and stops when I let off the gas), is this the lifters? What can I do about it. I just had the oil changed within the last 250 miles.

Good chance it's the resistor . Will be in circuit between switch and blower, usual locations are on ducting under dash on passenger side, or behind glove box. Locate wires coming from blower motor, and follow them back to resistor.

SOURCE: Rough idle 1994 chevy pick up k1500 4x4

I had a 96 GMC 1500 with a 5.7 ltr. It would idle rough, especially on start up. After replacing everything under the sun, it turned out the ECM (computer) was shot. I found a used one and plugged it in and it ran fine. I think I paid 50 bucks or so for it. If you know someone with a truck like yours, plug theirs in and see if it fixes it.

I'd be looking at rear u-joints and or driveshaft hangar bearing (support that hangs from frame that supports driveshaft) Both can make some strange sounds prior to failing.

Possible that it can be due to belt slippage , mainly the fan belt. Stop the engine and check the belt PLAY, if this is more remove the fitting bolts of the tensioner and adjust the tension of tehbelt to tighten it further.
Now if there is still noise coming out while it accelerates then the clutch, brakes or wheel bearings need to checked.

I have a 1997 chevy suburban k1500 and when in 4 wheel drive i hear a clicking sound from under the floor

That could be a number of issues with your transmission, the u-joints on the front driveshaft, or the transfer case. Get it checked out. Good Luck.
