A child safety lock switch hidden away on the trailing edge of the door can be engaged to prevent opening it, will be a little switch of sort itll move up or down. door will open from outside but not inside for child safety,
Is this only from the Inside? are you able to open from outside? If its only from inside that you are unable to open, the it may be the CHILD SAFETY switch on each door while door is open look at the front of each door you should see a switch that reads CHILD SAFETY, it designed to keep children from opening door from inside while vehicle is in motion. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Open the door from the outside and while open look at latch mechanism on door.
There should be a small sliding or toggle lever and it only has two positions.
Flip it to the other position...and this should fix it.
This is a safety feature to keep children from opening the doors from the inside...
Check the handbook if you got one, if all these alarms and flashers stop when the doors are closed it is probably part of the safety warning system, and being a new vehicle to you you are not acquainted with these devices.
the only thing i could think of would be the child safety feature but that is usually only for the rear doors. i think she just panicked because the front doors are set up so that if you pull the door lever the lock pops up.
I would check the overhead buttons there are two one opens the door, and the other beside it that shows the van crossed out, disables the electric sliding door feature. try playing with that, Also remember, that vehicle must be in PARK for the electric sliding door to open. Make sure the power lock on that door is working, and check the child safety lock when you have it open by the doors catch. Hope that Helps You.
From the back of the front door slide your hand in the sliding door crack and find the child-safety-lever. Push the lever up and/or down while moving the sliding door manual lock/unlock button to the up position. Also works on the non-powered sliding door.
to set the child locks,on the back doors there should be a peice that you click down, its right on the latch assembly,if you set that to child locks on the only way to open is from the outside, doesnt matter if the vehicle is moving or not
